Match Making

I feel like I really screwed up the match making for my profile and other players are catching on, too. I played bot games until level 30 until a friend said "No, you're playing PVP" and so he brought be into PVP with a secondary account. All the games we played that day, we completely destroyed the other team. Then, I started playing with him on his #1 profile and we started losing a lot. We win occasionally but lose more often.

Now when I queue by myself, I feel like I'm always getting curb stomped. Could it be possible that I accidentally placed out of my "division" because of starting out PVP at level 30 and with a friend who knew what he was doing? Is that fixable? Because right now, the loses are just getting bad. I just played a match and people asked how in the hell match making put me in with them. I apologized.

So frustrating. Anyway, it was never my intent to try to place above my skill level. I just wanted to practice bots until 30 and then start PVP. The skilled friend didn't help my case. ><

You still in normal? Honestly matchmaking is weird in normal....for instance this account I'm currently level 22 and I got paired with two people who were diamond...go figure.

Your MMR will right itself...it's possible your MMR was temporarily boosted playing with your friend...but it won't take too long for it to right itself...it's obviously not a perfect system. Normals will always be all over the place though...for instance a friend of mine the other day played a normal on his level 30 account with some 700+ wins....and his ADC he was paired with was level 5.

The important thing is not to stop...it won't ever fix itself if you don't power through it. If it gets too frustrating...just play one or two games...then play on your secondary account. After a day or two play another game or so on your main.

One thing is...even really bad people at the game will probably beat you in a PVP if you've never played against people before...you're just not used to how people play the game.

There's never anything wrong with having another account and leveling it up ONLY against people. It doesn't take terribly long to acclimate...and it's not like you have to get it up to level 30. Honestly getting it up to the early teens would probably be more than enough practice for you to hop back to your level 30 and do a whole lot better against the competition.
