understand the meta:
meta is not whatever the Pros like at the moment, meta is certain rules:
- Midlane collects XP, not Gold
- Botlane collects Gold, not XP. If one person gets all the gold the other needs to function without.
- Toplane needs endurance to stay in lane
Pick a champ that fits those criteria and question if you teammate fills that criteria before you comment on their pick.
For example: Urgot. is a rare Marksman in that he scales better on XP than on Gold. It's no wonder that he has always been weak in bot lane and shouldn't have been a surprise that he is good in solo lanes.
Also once you understand the meta, it is a valid option to break it. For example, if you can expect your opponent to take a Tank top, you can pick a Tank Buster like Vayne.
