Simple tips to climb the ladder!(how to get gold)

I've been seeing a lot of posts this week about people looking for tips on climbing. I've been gold since season 3, and have been dropped back into other divisions. At the start of this season I got placed into Silver 4, so I had to climb again and for awhile I even forgot my own rules so I was struggling myself. I'm using these tips more for getting to gold because that's the average rank I play at.

These are my tips!

  1. BE POSITIVE This in all honesty is my biggest rule, toxic players will destroy your games. If you run into a toxic player and can't manage to communicate with them mute them asap. Don't tell them you muted them either that may add fuel to the fire. Just get it out of the way and move on. Remaining positive also helps you back from a match that didn't quite end up the way you wanted it to. Positive players lead to positive teammates!

2.Pick from a small champion pool and stick to it! This i'm convinced is actually the reason why I wasn't climbing, for a pretty large period of time I was jumping roles because I was bored. DO NOT DO THIS! remember you're playing ranked to climb not to have fun! Once I switched back I climbed relatively easy and was having fun while doing it(mainly because I was winning most games). Pick the champions you have the highest win rates with they will get you where you want to go.

3.CS and Warding As much as we all love killing people on the other team this will not always win you the game. These things will inevitably as the game progresses. Keeping vision of the map will allow your team to have awareness of the map, help take objectives, and push towers. Your keep CS is what directly influences your character, even if you are winning in kills and are behind in CS it may backfire in your face. In an ideal situation you'd have kills and more CS than you're opponent, this is where you want to be for the ENTIRE GAME.

4.Play as a team If you're lane is doing well and their lane isn't don't use that fact as an ego booster, once you're able to move from a lane you definitely should. Your influence is important and it needs to be incorporated with your teams. Giving someone a kill or getting global gold from towers can make the biggest difference.

5.Towers and objectives These should be on your mind more than anything else, these are directly linked to winning games. Teams with high amounts of kills and no towers can have the game turn on them really quickly. If you have the lead you need to punish the other team for letting you get there. When you have an opportunity to win take it, don't say to yourself "But I want a BT on Janna because it's hilarious" and prolong the game. Win and move on too the next one!

I know this isn't really anything to in depth, but these things will change your games.

Now go get your rewards!

I just got to gold and the only thing winning my teams games was that we were actually working together. The games I lost would start to fall apart when someone makes some random snipe about what another team mate did and cause even more problems.

I just tried to keep my team from raging at each other really.

I have a different problem when climbing. I follow all these things (thought it was normal to just do these), I watch a lot of guides, practice, but I still can't get out of silver. My problem is I usually jungle, and when I do I can outplay most everyone, get fed, but I can't carry. I've been playing Champs like shaco and wukong, not very meta, but they aren't carry Champs. We just end up losing because someone fed or afked and I can't close by myself. I'm trying devourer Kayle now because I feel if I play more late game meta Champs, I'll actually carry and win. It's frustrating because I've played against higher elo players and can beat them, but I'm stuck in my elo. Is this the famed elo hell people always complain about?

So i have ben muting other players but i am still stuck in bronze 1. I have ben doing well with Shyvana but a lot of the time she is pick/baned or i can't play her. i have ben doing well in norms with ADCs like Graves and Ashe but.... i rly don't know how well i will do with them in ranked. I am sticking with ezreal ADC in ranked but after a bit you rly don't want to keep playing 1 champ for ADC when your AD. But i will still stick with it cuz i don't want to walk in with graves then can't last hit, getting zoned, getting killed ALL the time. I just rly don't want to do that in ranked and lose LP :(. So if you have any tips for that kind of stuff PLZ let me know :)
