What do you do against Heimerdinger?

So I'm trying to at least get 1 champ in every roll that i'm good with and I decided for mid lane that I wanted to use Jayce. So I just played against heimerdinger and the guy was Diamond 5. What happened is that Heimer constantly pushed me under tower and I got around 20 cs behind him the entire game and he ended up taking my tower really early. So what am I supposed to do against Heimer? I'm not really sure how I could have played the lane better except hit more skillshots and don't take as much AA harass. It's not really possible to push him to tower so should I just give up my tower so I can gank lanes? Any tips would be nice preferably from diamond or plat players or anyone who has a tremendous amount of knowledge on how to beat this.

It's been said, but ...

Heimer can have 3 turrets on the ground and up to 3 more in his pockets. If he have 1 turret left, he's in a difficult position. Otherwise he will kill anything who try to dive on him. NEVER dive Heimer unless you know how much turrets he have in stock. This gold rule worth for his opposing laner, but also to the jungle, the top, the support and even the entire team that dive him in 5v1. It will stil be a disaster if you dont know the amount of turrets left. So first thing, you need to count his turrets. You will need to take down the turrets until he run low.

Another nice trick to have is to play harder on the wave momentum. He have to drop turrets for his own safety while he farm so if you alternate between pushing close to his tower and close to yours he fill have to reposition his turrets and he will burn many stack of turrets.

Stay positive. Yes it's true that he is farming hard, but at least he is sending the wave at you quite nicely so just keep farming safely if anything else fail.

You want to pick someone who can easily deal with his turrets from a distance and has an easy /decent time pushing the wave.

So

Orianna Zyra (Sort of) Azir Brand (He can spread his E, if one of the turrets has his passive on it, but he's a little short ranged.) Karma (Kinda)

should be decent picks. The main rule you should keep though is never get close to him and never get close to his turrets.

When going to take out heimer turrets, its a good idea to walk barely into their range so they expend their beam attacks, this is where a large chunk of their damage comes from and will help you minimize the damage you take diffusing the turret nest.

Heimer is also highly immobile, coordinated ganks with your jungler can work great, but you need to make sure you both can interact very quickly with each other. The longer one or the other stays in range without the other doing damage, the easier it is for Heimer to kite.

Poke when you can, kill turrets otherwise.

Do not fight around the Apex turret if you can help it. Thing hits like a truck, and if Heimer has Zhonya's He'll likely plop it down then Stasis so you're forced to disengage or take punishment. Remind your jungler that he can smite the turrets, doing so will make ganks against him much easier.

Keep mindful of your hp. Even if ganked, a Heimer may attempt to remove you from the equation with a well aimed Rocket Swarm, This ability is however annoyingly difficult to aim as it follows heimer while moving but doesn't change angle (Think Lucian's Culling, only faster with more damage lost per rocket lost)

Play safe, look for openings, coordinate with your jungle if you can't take openings yourself. Whenever you go after heimer, you want to make it quick. The longer a fight goes on, the more it sways in heimer's favor.

Heimerdinger If you can't Helium or Curium, you Barium!

If you're a melee champ, just laneswap with bot lane. At least down there you'll be able to CS under tower without getting melted.

Jungler not running purple smite? Don't ask them to gank for you then. The LAST thing you want to do is have someone like... I dunno, Khazix swaglyfe into the turrets and then get melted under a stun and Heimer then gets double buffs. If he goes to dragon or baron, don't go in the pit.

For the love of all that is holy don't go in the pit. 3 turrets set up so they can't be focused but can kill the epic monster and anyone else who ventures in and then can drop big turret at the exit or fire off a shitton of missles to chunk you.

The best way is to play vlad or yasuo if you are good with them, but let's assume you're playing jayce. The biggest thing is to try and find angles where you can hit one of his turrets and either him or the creep wave At the same time with shock blast gate combo. This lets you keep pressure on him and poke. Also when the jg ganks you can kick him out of his turrets with knock back to reduce dmg taken during tank.

You pick a poke champion so you can take turrets from a distance.

Heimer was built to win lane, so don't feel bad losing a tower to him early. Just poke him down and take out his turrets as quick as he puts them down.

i play lane bullies in mid Ahri Xerath Lissandra when i am against a donger i just keep lane pushed as much as i can and knock out his furthest turrets slowing pushing him to tower. Your not gonna keep him from CSing even under tower but the constant pressure works wonders to keep from losing lane. Remember those turrets are worth gold. when your wave hits turret range take them down 1 at a time. Lateral movement helps a lot with dodging those power shots. NEVER back unless he does if you can help it. if hes left alone in lane he will push to your tower in 1-2 waves. If you try to keep his turrets down 2 things happen, he wastes mana placing them all the time and it makes it much easier for your JG to harass or even get a gank in. JG passing thru lane even just to knock a turret or 2 down on the way thru helps tremendously. ganks arent the only way a jg can really influence a lane, Heimer lane specifically

You ignore him and you kill his turrets. Prefferably before he gets to set up 3 together.

You will take some damage doing so of course, but it's not so bad. Jayce in particular can just blast them from a distance I would think.

In this sort of situation i think the best thing you can do is try to destroy his turrets without being kites to much. But when that fails just wait for wave to push up, farm safely, and keep him off your tower

You hope you can make it to the late game. In all seriousness, Jayce really is good against the Donger, because Jayce has great poke and can at least try to knock out the turrets from way out of range. Although you can't do a whole lot against him playing as anyone.

Heim falls off after laning phase because he isnt mobile and he depends on his turrets

Heimer is basically designed to do exactly what he did to you. He is a lane bully who shoves in hard and pushes for a really early tower. As Jayce, your goal is to CS, avoid taking damage from his turrets, and poke him out whenever possible. Your champ scales excellently into late game, so your job is not to "beat" heimer in lane (don't try to kill him, don't be upset if you're down in farm, just play safe and survive), because once landing Phase ends, Heimerdinger's usefulness drops off dramatically, which is the point in the game where you begin to shine as Jayce. You far outrange him with accelerated shock blasts and can clear his turrets easily enough after lane phase once your damage picks up. If you ever try to kill Heimer, always make sure that you've killed all his turrets and baited at least half of his summoners and item actives (i.e. Zhonya's, Flash, Heal, Ult, etc. Your goal is to have at least 2 of those down before even thinking about engaging on him 1v1), otherwise he'll likely get a revenge kill or blow you up outright.
