Need help against Darius

Whenever I see Darius on the other side of the field I really want to smash a window, I absolutely detest this champion, his players and the mind behind him (don't get me started on the other Champions designed by CertainlyToxic)

So how do I deal with him? Unless I pick something ranged and farm under turret (still dangerous) outside of his apprehend range he is going to win any trade thanks to the rediculous dmg on his Q and passive. Then he hits 6 and can dive you any time he wants so either I risk getting killed or B every so often, either way he is winning. Be it via kills or via levels and farm.

There is no fun playing against him, no feel of victory should I finally kill him just this vast emptyness of hatred for his design.

So far, I tried almost all the popular top laners and have yet to defeat Darius in lane.

And yes, I played him myself and got "counterpicked" by a Jayce, Gnar and Teemo without any knowledge of the champ (Darius) and STILL smashed them in lane. I am really getting sick of this champion because I do not enjoy him nor do I think he is ban worthy as he does falls off later.

It gets even worse when the enemy team picks him early while my team picks squishy after squishy which drastically reduces the number of available top laners as they not only need to survive darius but also need to be an asset later.

Rant end.

Building health against him is more effective than straight armor, he deals physical damage then magical with the bleed, furthermore the only way to deal with true damage is to build health. Not to mention that he gets natural armor penetration from Apprehend's passive anyway.

Tankier top laners or ranged champions are the way to go.

Malphite has a natural shield based on his max HP, it will mitigate a good bit of damage from his Q harass, he also has an attack speed slow so Darius can't stack as much bleed effect on you, in addition to a movement speed slow so he can't chase you as effectively.

Renekton is a decent choice, he's a lane bully that comes close to matching Darius in oppressiveness. He has his heal on Q, and after 6 it's very difficult for Darius to kill you due to your ult. A good combo with Renekton is to E in (make sure you hit him with the E), Q, then W, and E back out. This gets your damage off and stuns Darius so he can't trade back against you, and you should be able to get out of his Decimate as well as his Apprehend range, while still having thrown your damage at him.

Cho'gath should work fairly well, I've not personally tried it, but he has a good bit of CC to play with, and his ult naturally stacks health.

If you're skilled with Riven, she can work as well, it's a very difficult matchup, but she has a bunch of outplay potential and I've come out decently in the matchup.

Quinn works pretty well, her AA range is beyond that of Decimate, but not Apprehend, however she does have Vault and is able to jump out of danger if she does get apprehended. Not to mention with her passive she can be pretty oppressive against Melee champions.

I think my suggestion would be Malphite or Renekton, leaning towards Renekton. He's not very difficult to play, and he's quite strong. Putting out decent damage, and being a pretty solid tank.

He is one of the best lane bullies in the game. Except to get smashed in lane by this dude, even with top laners I'm comfortable with he still gives me trouble. Just farm carefully and pray for ganks. If you dont let him snowball he is pointless to his team. "OMG 1/3/2 Darius keeps KS'ing me" his lane phase is all he is good at after that go help your team out because he wont be helping his.
