Surrender at 20? For what reason??

So, this is still a very big issue with players in the lower elo. Just thought I should mention first that I'm currently Silver III, but why is it that everyone is so quick to surrender. I remember one of my games last week I was playing Kennen top and was 4 and 0 for the first 12 minutes. The team then starts raging at each other. We had the same amount of turrets than the enemy team around turrets but were behind in kills by two, and so our Blitzcrank said "OMG JUST SURRENDER." So I asked "Why would we surrender?" Blitz "Are you blind? ITS 9 TO 7" <---Seriously?? I don't see why people are so quick to surrender, but I made it my role to calm down the team as much as possible since everyone either started tilting, or raging. After we declined the surrender vote, Blitz just started walking into the enemy team and feeding. Despite the fact that my ping started getting worse and worse, I held it together and tried my best in team fights since I'm Kennen.

Where I wasn't getting kills, I was doing tons of damage while our jungle Jax and our Tristana cleaned up. We were ahead in gold the entire game, but our Blitz still wanted to surrender especially when we lost a team fight, and then Jax started raging at our Tristana who was doing just fine. I didn't want Tristana to start tilting so I assured her that she was doing just fine. Even though the Jax in our game was fed, he wasn't making great decisions for the team. For example, he wanted trist and I to push turret after a team fight in the enemy jungle, but we had about 100 health each and Xerath was still up. He raged at us because we didn't come mid for the mid tower and inhibitor and insisted that if Xerath tried to snipe us, he'd hop on him. Horrible idea since one long range Q from Xerath does 25% of my HP, so then he calls the team s***. Either way, despite the fact that our team morale was pretty much inexistent, we pulled it together and won LIKE WE SHOULD HAVE since we had a huge gold lead. I just don't see why people lack the will power to try and do something rather than give up. I know that my score wasn't the best when I came out (It was 8/7/20), but had I been a rager, it would have been worse and we wouldn't have even had a chance at winning.

One last thing to mention, I will only surrender if the team is horribly winning and the game is so bad that we're being inhib tower dived early in the game. I've won games both ranked and norms where we were behind by 7-14k gold, so I'm quite persistent in game, especially ranked.

Never surrender, always the chance that in the lower elo the enemy team will make much larger mistakes ahead or not

Because typically in lower elo, the same choices that caused a team to start to lose will continue to be made. Players that can change the way they play mid game and play from behind don't end up in bronze and silver. If a silver 3 top lane fed for 20 min, hes probably gonna feed for the next 20, so surrender and save yourself the torture.

If its a normal or Aram where we are just getting slaughtered.. behind in objectives/gold or with people who blatantly have no idea what they are doing and don't care to stop being super ignorant/arrogant.. then I will surrender (Unless someone is being exceptionally toxic, then I will decline the surrender just to childishly annoy the person being like that).

If it is ranked, I don't care how bad we are losing, or how far behind we are.. I will not surrender. I would rather play it out and see if something changes, or if the enemy team makes a mistake than surrender away the LP I played hard to get (many times including dealing with someone toxic/clueless/troll).

In my case I want to surrender at 20 to get away from toxic players, and get into another match where I can hopeful get non toxic players. Sounds like your Blitz was getting tired of the raging, and just wanted to get out of the game without being punished by the system.

However, I was playing a match with an ally Lee Sin, who wanted to surrender, cause our bot lane didn't to well. Tristana and Sona VS Lucian and Nami. Me playing as Xerath VS Katarina, Lee Sin jungle VS Master Yi, and Irliea VS Jax in top lane.

Now most of our team is late game power, but he wanted to surrender and 20, and every time he could start the vote. That is the surrender I DON'T accept. Now if everything has just gone way south. Then I will accept the Surrender.

I don't ever surrender. There's always the off chance that the enemy team will get sloppy and neglect to close out a game. It's also good experience on knowing how to play from behind so you get some much needed knowledge on what you can do in situations where you are behind so when it happens again you have a clue on how to stay useful in bleak situations. And it always feels good to come from behind and win.

The thing that caught my attention is when you said all your team mates started raging at each other. That's usually when I start thinking about a surrender. I don't care how good or bad we're doing. It's about having fun, and ragers aren't fun.

As long as people aren't acting like assholes I'll enjoy playing the game out no matter how far behind we are. After all, like you said, you can always turn it around.
