Okay, so I have been playing league for two months after my first off put in season 3 or 4. I was wondering how I could get better, I have been playing my favorite champion ViktorViktor for the last month and I haven't really gotten better with him. I just don't understand what I am doing wrong! Last hitting is a pain and fairly difficult to do with him. And I haven't gotten in better it has been 3 weeks and I practice every time I have the free time, which is quite often. I use my auto attacks and basic spells (e.g not my ult and summoners) and I just run out of mana, but that is the only way to get near 60 minions at 10 minutes in a custom game. But when I try to translate that into a real game I am always out CS'd by my opponent. I know this is a sign that I suck, but do I really suck that bad?( Don't answer it >.<)

Why is it easier to last hit with some champions than with others?

When it comes to csing you need to just think of it logically.

Ok, viktor has a 'bad animation, no such thing, he just has a certain TIME before the projectile leaves his character, and a variable TIME due to projectile speed before it hits it's target.

For the purpose of this, lets say on average it takes 0.4 seconds from click to actual hit.

Ok so now you know this, now look at your minions, they are damaging it at a rate of about 15% every hit, this means in about 7 hits, that minion will be dying.

You do about 20% damage to the minion. So don't just wait till you see it at this health, you know the minion's sixth hit is coming in, and it will die on the 7th, just TIME it so that you hit directly after that sixth hit.

As you get better, and want to freeze lane, you'll be able to time it better and better until your projectile is hitting it miniseconds before the 7th hit. It's just a matter of practice, keep a look at your minions.

Infact want to get better? The difference between silver and gold, the biggest mechanic, is probably minion respect (and maybe level and item power respect)

Focus so hard on those minions, they tell you everything, they tell you your lane is pushing, they tell you 'the enemy is going to come forward and hit you' they let you know the best time to trade, the best time to back off, they give you vision, and trust me, 5 minions by your side in a trade do more damage then your lvl 3 ignite.

I'd recommend Jayce too practice CS. His animation is really smooth.

don't fret too much bud :) it takes practice and patience to get better at last hitting. do your best and you'll find you'll start to get used to it. I still have bad games where I have under 40 at ten minutes... so embarassing :( then everyone yells at me and I tilt and look worse :(

but the other day I had two really good games in a row with 230 cs at almost 30 minutes :O i was so surprised and so pleased :)

Sometimes it's better to take a break from your main/favourite champ and play something else to relax.

One trick that a lot of Gold+ players do is to buy AD Reds or Quints so that you have a higher than normal base AD, that way you can last hit better. I mean you aren't going to scale as well into late game with the extra AD but you aren't even scaling at all if you can't even last hit enough.

Thank you guys for being so supportive and not going on "/"(tilt for those of you who didn't catch that) :3 lol. Would it be easier to use hybrid pen marks would that help with last hitting? I thought about buying some but I just don't know if that would help scaling wise and on last hitting because it doesn't give that much extra AD

So some champs have a better auto animation than others like ashe's aa is smother than lulu's or it could be that you need to take a break with a champ and find some one who has a some what same AD with a smother aa animation. I've played with a cait ADC in RANKED with 23 cs at 49 min into the game. i've missed over half the last hits in lane, last hitting is hard to do but when your good at it, kills don't mean anything to you. you can go 0/2 in lane but out gold them by 3k. just try and relax and have fun, if anyone is toxic just mute/ignore them and stop your self from tilting. If worst come to worst just make the chat size small and don't look at it :D. Good luck with your games :)

It's all practice, I personally find it really easy to cs with Viktor autos and never run oom. Practice makes perfect bud. Also I suggest keeping your mouse near minions when you are trying to last hit and moving back and forth until it is just right, then click it ad it is about to hit the right hp. I know it's not very clear but it's hard to explain through text :c.

I honestly can't think of any tips/tricks to help ya out i used to suck at csing but after a while i got really good (and i mean a long while, then again i only play one champ in norms really because...heh xD) You just gotta practice keep going at it You'll get better over time no problem no matter how useless it may seem, its not, never think it is I wish you luck in your games good sir

I'd say pick a champ that is easier to use to get better. Generally big "play maker" champs tend to be double sided swords. Do it right and you make a huge difference do it wrong and you haven't done much. If you want to get better at csing find a friend who will play with you in a custom game or add a bot. If you'd like add me and if I have time I'd be happy to cs with you and tell you what you're doing well. I'm only Gold three though.

Why is it easier to last hit with some champions than with others?

The reason it is easier to last hit with some champions is because some champions have a higher base attack damage. Try left-clicking a minion to see their HP and the like ( as you would a foe champion ) and time your auto-attacks so they kill the minion. I'm sure there are better ways to more effectively last hit, your method of practicing being the one I would have suggested, but I don't know any others.

Some champions have higher base AD than others, and some start with AD runes and AD items, making it easier to CS with.

You should practice CSing with out using spells, as a vik you need to be using them to harass lane opponents rather than CSing with. really u just need to pay attention to what minions your minions are focusing and be aware of how much damage u do to them. Last hitting is usually a pain the first few lvls as most APs. But if you keep up on practicing it then you will get it.

Once you are comfortable in your lane and you have the first augment you should be able to 1 shot the caster minions with E as vik. If you need to push/clear it. if not 1 shot it should take 1 AA each.

I am a vik main as well, if you would like to practice with me feel free to add me in game and I might be able to help ya out.
