Simple Tips

Just simple tips that newer players might benefit from.

Here's some tips and I'm by no means a "pro" but they have helped me.

  1. Map Awareness. Always watch your mini map, make sure you are constantly warding etc. (I'm still working on this one)

  2. Play champions that you feel comfortable with (ALOT) don't just counter pick because the Internet told you to. I will play a lot better with a champion that I've played 20 times over a champion I have played once and picked them to counter the enemy.

  3. Avoid ganks, comes with map awareness.

  4. Learn the abilities of a lot of champions. If you know the mechanics of the champion you are playing against you can better avoid his attacks. For example: if you are playing against a teemo and he just used his blinding dart to poke you, then you know he can't blind you as you engage.

  5. Communication is huge. Talk to your team, let them know if you are struggling or need help in lane.

  6. Choose the correct time to engage. If you have an Alistar on your team and you are an ADC wait for him to do a knock up before you get close enough to be damaged.

  7. Last hitting minions is simple in context but can drastically change the game. More last hits=More Money=More items.

  8. Recognize the fight or flight situations. There is a point in a game where you feel a shift, you feel powerful. You won't even have to try and see it. It will just happen with items. Once you know you have the power, don't be afraid to use it.

  9. Relax and have fun. Constantly worrying about a KDA is stressful. As long as you are helping your team in fights and taking down turrets, you are doing just fine!

  10. Biggest problem with league is a lot of Toxicity with other players. If you have a teammate that is just feeding or afk or being rude, ignore it. Just play YOUR game. Report him afterwards and he will get what's coming.

Hope this helped somewhat. And good luck on the rift (or Aram) if that is your cup of tea!

Ehhhhhhhh.

It depends on the matchup, I would think. For example, when I play Garen, I am extremely anal about forcing myself between the enemy towers and proxy farming to drag people up top. This in turn relieves pressure from the other lanes and pulls the enemy jungler away from drag.
