I always lose ranked with him (not even exaggerating) can anyone give me some tips on how to do better in ranked with zed? please? more specifically what do I do against

Zed excels in lane and does quite well in split pushing. Team fighting with Zed is quite hard and it's not really recommended. If you have to team fight look for the people with glass/QSS and be sure not to target them with your ult. Another thing is similar to other assassins like Kat/Fizz/Akali it's not a good idea to initiate the fight yourself. Wait for the chaos to begin before picking out your target and trying to kill them.

If possible ask your team to group top/bot and split push on the opposite side of them. Don't get kill hungry, it's easy to get kills as zed but trading 1 for 1 actually hurts your team quite a bit so avoid doing that post laning phase.

yes if you have to team fight go for the squishys such as ADCs. assassins excel at bursting your target and getting out.

He might be getting ranked jitters, or the "bronze effect", causing him, (And probably is whole team.) to choke. If general tips is what he wants, then he needs to ask about Zed specifically. Armor pen items and crits tend to crush most opposition. If he wants tips on when to go in when a teamfight is brewing, It is better to go in during, or just after the teamfight(Only if you know they can't stop you, like if they are low after the teamfight, per say.), and to target other carries, as the assassin's job is to be the carry-hunter. You can sometimes pick off enemy champs, then force a teamfight, knowing that they lack a player now. Warding and pinging is important, and well as teamwork. 21/9/0 should work in masteries, and Armor pen red/quints, as well as MR blues, armor yellows should do you fine. Remember that shadows = mobility, so try boots other then these God-awful things item 3117 . Take things like item 3071 , item 3142 , item 3035 , item 3072 , item 3078 , item 3074 , item 3046 , and item 3153 , for damage, and for good boots, try any of these: item 3047 , item 3158 , or item 3111 . If you're getting focused, try these: item 3026 , item 3102 , item 3075 .

I disagree. item 3117 are great on zed. as zed you need to roam a lot, and they give you lots of move speed. the build I that use is bork then youmuus into last whisper and I.E. and then I get a defensive item either GA or banshees veil.

Let me clear this up: I don't like item 3117 on any champion, period. these boots help with roaming, sure, but lose most of their value the second you hit combat. I take boots to make me faster at all times, not only when I'm out of combat, besides, the other boots I posted above have way more uses then simply getting to the fight, but actually being more useful in it, not saying that item 3117 + Zed is useless or bad, I just find more CDR or tenacity to be more useful to me.

item 3117 in the early game on zed Is very important for the roaming purpose. but as the game goes on I switch them out for item 3158 or item 3172 but that's just me.

Fair enough, I also sometimes like to go for the9/21/0 masteries, item 3009 item 3172 combo, but its unnecessary at best, I only really do it to troll the enemy team. :^)

i definitely agree with Mobius on this. When you're ranking, being at the right places at the right time greatly impacts the game, especially when you're playing an assassin like Zed item 3117 on assassins make roaming a lot easier and I believe they are most beneficial boots an assassin can have, in terms of team impact.

...Or get both, the point of item 3111 is to resist CC, not just to get MR, having both would make you even harder to kill.

once again im sorry if this is starting to be repetitive, you need item 3117 for roaming, the only time you would get item 3111 is if your up against someone like a Syndra Ziggs Ahri or Veigar that's the only time I get . im not trying to be mean or anything just trying to be helpful and you right, getting for cc is a very viable decision, I just don't get them unless im being bullied out of lane by one of the champions you see above.

when people get things like item 3157 , item 3140 , Kayle , build a lot of damage so you don't have to rely on you ult. build things like item 3153 item 3142 item 3035 item 3031 and things like item 3026 item 3102

You are playing a champ that very easily destroys most lanes. No mana, free escape, high damage, etc.. The trade off is that late game when most everyone has a QSS, Hourglass, Kayle ult, Zilean ult, etc you are mostly useless. You either have to crush your lane, or roam bot and help them crush their lane so bad that the enemy can't come back. OR late game you just have to split push and hope whoever is sent to deal with you does not have one of those things available, or they send 2 or more and your team can win 4v3. Failing that, hope you get carried.

split push alot because zed is single target damage in team fights9whicnt isnt that good for a team fight)but dont over split push because if ur team isnt hard pushing mid and u still split push, they will kill u. and also just because zed is a bad team fighter does not mean u IGNORE all team fights. if a team fight happens and u think u can help, u should go there and maybe you can get an ace.

Though build wise I am not much help, I can give you a very nice skill combo to use. Try W R ATTACK R W as a kill combo. This allows you to jump in at a crazy distance, Abuse the hell out of them, And then jump back with the equivalent of two flashes.

yea, but most of the time you want to R then W to maximize your damage since your shadow mimicks your abilities.

ult the adc then try to get out of there if they have a qss then throw your w out e q then start walking towards them but dont get too close to the enemy team just make it look like you are going for an all in it is likely that they will panic and blow their immunity item and then you are free to engage after you bait out their immunity item
