I really like playing zed, but
I always lose ranked with him (not even exaggerating) can anyone give me some tips on how to do better in ranked with zed?

Zed excels in lane and does quite well in split pushing. Team fighting with Zed is quite hard and it's not really recommended. If you have to team fight look for the people with glass/QSS and be sure not to target them with your ult. Another thing is similar to other assassins like Kat/Fizz/Akali it's not a good idea to initiate the fight yourself. Wait for the chaos to begin before picking out your target and trying to kill them.
If possible ask your team to group top/bot and split push on the opposite side of them. Don't get kill hungry, it's easy to get kills as zed but trading 1 for 1 actually hurts your team quite a bit so avoid doing that post laning phase.

You are playing a champ that very easily destroys most lanes. No mana, free escape, high damage, etc.. The trade off is that late game when most everyone has a QSS, Hourglass, Kayle ult, Zilean ult, etc you are mostly useless. You either have to crush your lane, or roam bot and help them crush their lane so bad that the enemy can't come back. OR late game you just have to split push and hope whoever is sent to deal with you does not have one of those things available, or they send 2 or more and your team can win 4v3. Failing that, hope you get carried.
ult the adc then try to get out of there if they have a qss then throw your w out e q then start walking towards them but dont get too close to the enemy team just make it look like you are going for an all in it is likely that they will panic and blow their immunity item and then you are free to engage after you bait out their immunity item
Though build wise I am not much help, I can give you a very nice skill combo to use. Try W R ATTACK R W as a kill combo. This allows you to jump in at a crazy distance, Abuse the hell out of them, And then jump back with the equivalent of two flashes.
split push alot because zed is single target damage in team fights9whicnt isnt that good for a team fight)but dont over split push because if ur team isnt hard pushing mid and u still split push, they will kill u. and also just because zed is a bad team fighter does not mean u IGNORE all team fights. if a team fight happens and u think u can help, u should go there and maybe you can get an ace.
I main zed, and the person who taught me to play him was Redmercy. he is diamond 4 or 5 on his main.
