Please. Do not buy Ravenous Hydra as your first item.

I know you're thinking I'm crazy, but hear me out. Finishing Hydra is a waste of gold. What you really want is Tiamat, because of the active/passive. The only thing Hydra adds is 35 AD and 12% lifesteal. The extra AD is great, but the lifesteal is largely a waste because Talon is NOT a marksman or bruiser who benefits from dps. Don't get me wrong; the lifesteal isn't completely useless, but it doesn't benefit Talon's burst at all.

Talon benefits from straight up AD more than any other stat. So instead of upgrading Tiamat to Hydra for an expensive 1400g, save up 150g more to buy yourself a BF Sword (Or a Pickaxe+Long Sword).

I typically find ravenous hydra to be pretty useful. I always get brutalizer first, but I always get the tiamet and upgrade it right after. Personally I like having the lifesteal and it still gives a good amount of ad so I don't like to wait to finish it. I can see your reasoning though and in the end it really comes down to personal preference.

Really depends who you are laning against. If you are looking for quick burst you should delay upgrading taimat. If you are having more extended laning fights, hydra is very good for sustain and pushing the wave so you can roam easier. Most mages you want to kill quickly, but for champs like Diana , Mordekaiser , Gragas , Swain , and Riven you should definitely upgrade to hydra earlier for the extended lane presence.

The lifesteal isn't really for the DPS (in my opinion) it's for after the burst, being able to attack minions and regaining all the health you just lost by getting in so close to your target. Especially in early game, being able to sustain and stay in lane and farm longer than your opponet can mean the difference between winning or loosing. Essentially it comes down to having to back. Every time you go back to fountain and your opponet stays in lane, that's almost a full MINUTE of free farm that person gets, with no consequences to the farm.

Talon only needs brutalizer. If you have armor pen runes you will have 29 armor pen. GG other midlaner.
