solo queue
Just looking for good, solid advice on moving up in ranked. Got demoted from plat to gold at reset and kind of lost my lol mojo, so looking for aome good advice to help get back to plat and wade through the trolls.

Let's start with you: you need to shore up on your mechanics. The best way to do this is to practice your farming. Outfarm your opponent, and you have a guaranteed advantage in lane. Custom maps are best for this.
From there, get some wins under your belt for confidence. Start with bots, move up to normals, and finally ranked. Taking each match with at least 40% focus allows you to be in that ranked match mindset.
From there, play ranked, hope for the best, and have fun.
plenty of plat got demoted to gold and silver. its normal. through my playing against plats and golds in normal. they don't seem much better, some seem dumber especially in golds. plenty of dumb decision making but better mechanics. well solo que is a self carry game. u cant carry everyone but do what you gotta do, rather then just simply working on mechanics, there are plenty things to constant improve. such as stat information, be up date with it. knowing flat information just puts u in advantage against a good mechanical player who doesn't know about stats. example memorize skill shot ranges, dmg scaling's, minion dmg out put. item stats buffs since they change these things all the time, exact cd on skills of champs, maybe need to look at a spread sheet of jungle clearing time.
other things are decision making, 2 ways of looking at it. some people are more team oriented, and some are more self prioritizing. to be with team or get shit done by your self. I had conflicting views from different high tier plats and diamonds. some say synergize with your team, encourage them lead them. others say do what you think needs to be done, carry with ur ability do not rely on others to get things done. team fights + kills vs objectives + pressure etc. maybe ur super good at setting up kills, maybe ur super good at kiting or assassinating, or maybe ur super good at back dooring and pressuring side lanes. pick which ever works more for you.
