Sion Teleport Smite idea

Jetrel63··3 votes·3,175 views

I have been messing with this new meta for a bit now with various champs but Sion Top seems like he could benefit from it greatly. Usually I can steal a buff or random camp, die then tele top with a lead.

Now that I am trying tele/smite I wonder if I could (if lucky) steal steal their minicamp(smite it). Then die on their blue/red and steal it. Then tele to top with all that goodness.

I know this would only work if their jg/team was lazy or retarded, more often than not I do steal a buff unnoticed. Or if our jg is strong early and willing to give up our buff/gromp and counter jg, taking it would be even easier.

I shouldn't lose more than one wave MAX, I am wondering if this would be worth? Going to try this out in a few games today.

Anyone know if this works better than simply tele/flash? After using sion with cinderhulk I am really trying to shove smite in there.

When I play shyv or hec top I almost always start at the opposing junglers top buff. Nobody guards dat ass edit: That being said, the reason it's so good is cause skirmishers sabre makes them really hard to duel with from the 20% reduced damage. I don't see sion benefiting from that as much since he's already tanky and nobody really bothers to all him him

Smiting the ennemy mid laner / adc in teamfights, and losing 20% less health every 90 seconds or so in a trade.

It's more the loss of flash that is a big concern.

the 20% reduced damage is only applied towards the smiter, so it isn't that great in that scenario if you're already playing a tank who they likely won't be focusing

Shyvana is also played as a tank. I just think your conception of the smite is biaised a bit. Right now a tank eats still a lot of damage. Sion and Mundo are 2 great examples. They can't be ignored. They have a lot of CC / permaslow. Smiting a huge source of damage just allows you to be even more tanky and to be a bigger threat.

The main problem is that you lack an escape mechanism by not taking flash. Shyvana has her burnout to get out even if she uses her Dragon Descent to engage. If Mundo or Sion get collapsed on, they have nothing to get out.

You're def right that the normal champs that use smite top have escapes in their kit (shyv, hec, voli) but they also generally build bruiser rather than full tank like sion.

I don't mind being told that I'm wrong, but... at least come with some data... or else you see me getting the pro's build. Pro players tend to make the most of the 25% HP.

Vizicsacsi's Shyvana, full tank, beginning to build BotRK end game http://prntscr.com/6u9vi5

freddy122's Shyvana, full tank. In 1, only 1, was trying to get BotRK end game. http://prntscr.com/6u9vrg http://prntscr.com/6u9vyo http://prntscr.com/6u9w0z

Huni's Lee Sin, full Tank http://prntscr.com/6u9w7t http://prntscr.com/6u9wds http://prntscr.com/6u9wfo

TDK's Seraph's Shyvana, I'll give you the bruiser on that one. But he didn't win more matches. http://prntscr.com/6u9ww8 http://prntscr.com/6u9xf2

TDK's Seraph's Gnar, Full tank http://prntscr.com/6u9xal

Reason Gaming's Kubon's Shyvana, Full Tank. http://prntscr.com/6u9xq7

Well, I won't say you're wrong. But what I will say is "pro" builds shouldn't be what's being considered as they are a premade team and a different skill level than 99.99% of the player base meaning different strats will work well for them, but horribly for most solo que played. .

I also wont spend the time to look up data, but what I can tell you is in majority of games at high plat the common champs that take smite build 2 damage items which I would never see a sion build 2, or often times 1 damage item.

My main point is smite is good for skirmishing, and sion isn't a champ that's good to skirmish because champs don't go toe to toe "all in" with a straight tank champ like sion. Although your lack of escape was also a very good point

I appreciate you pulling up all that info,

Sion is good to skirmish... I mean, he's supposed to be a lane bully. He doesn't have the necessity to build a lot of damage items to hurt. More often than not you see him build full tank, and still win and bully his lane.

I appreciate the idea, but I doubt the loss of flash is worth. Flash-E / Flash-Q is pretty good with Sion. You would have to try it. Might be good. Can't tell for sure.

Without saying that sion doesn't really have any excape mechanism (Which flash provides)
