Top tips? (Hooray for alliteration!)

So, uh, I've been learning / playing two different champs, and up in top. While my friend has been teaching me the ropes for the most part, I just wanted to see what build tips you all have, especially for Sion because I only know Frozen Heart is core.

Additionally, how do you guys handle Riven with these Champions? It was easy when I use Liss, but every Sion I've watched gets his ass handed to him (granted that was diamond, and I am on my best day Silver).

my build path with sion is item 3110 > item 3083 > item 3111 > item 3025 > item 3143 item 3065 depending on the team comp i either get spirit visage first then randuins or vice versa

Good Riven can handle anyone. But it's one of main things on toplane - learn how to stay against stronger player or counterpick. Both Liss and Sion can stay safe vs Riven. Sion is tanky, with shield and cc. Just avoid her Q combo and you'll be great.

I topped my way through silver 5 to gold last week. If you want to get out, as horrible as this sounds the main thing to remember is at you are in fact an island. A own man army and that is he mind set you need to go into combat with at this Elo. The truth of the matter is that SOMEONE is going to become the feeder and you want it to be their top lane. Although competitively ignite is not the ideal choice to win "late game" there is no late game in silver. I would consider dropping sion, not because he isn't amaze balls but because silver isn't diamond there's no need to tank for complete strangers and put your faith on something that's not going to work very often. Lissandra should be your bread and butter she cAn w.o fail make he game a 4v5 instantly. As for an alternative to sion if you like his play style consider mastering Darius. He too is a solid bruiser especially in silver who can force their jungle and top to remain camped in your lane. This gives your team of heroes or zeroes the opportunity to secure objectives that WILL win you the game. In closing remember to ward and ward and ward again as you push for the T2 and later the inhib. Gl man and feel free to contact me.
