Serious question

I'm still relatively new to League.. Started around a year and a half ago but didn't get serious until a few months ago. I made it to S5 before the end of the season. Flame on all you want.. I'm proud of myself. >:)

I don't mind letting the jungle farm item 3160. If I have a jungler on my team who will be farming it I just play safe. I may lose out on kills early, but it always seems to catch up later when we have a jungler running around eating people. My question is... with everyone else on the team whining about not getting ganks, and seeing a lot of threads about jungle hate.. isn't it bronze mentality to get mad at the jungler for this kind of thing?

Whenever I jungle and farm FF I get flack for not ganking.. but in my mind I think it would be more beneficial to have a 0/0 jungle with a full item 3160 midgame than have a 1/1 or whatever jungle with 15 stacks because he spent too much time camping lanes.

I love this.

I watched a diamond stream commentary last night and he was commenting how his jungle not having pressure pre 6 was costing him Lane. He also commented a couple times that it was a farm jungler and he didn't expect ganks, but he still commented on it every time kha'zix ganked him (often for kills).

All I could think is "how the ... Are you Diamond?" I mean, I agree with you entirely, if you have a farm jungler you should play it safe in Lane. You win the game by default if everyone goes 0/0, or even if your team had a couple deaths.

I think people complain because they died to the other junglers gank and don't want to blame themselves. It's at all levels of play, no one seems willing to admit that they went out too far without adequate vision.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone that goes so far as to say a feral flare or other farm jungler is at fault for them losing Lane just sucks at this game (or at least sucks at adapting to a different game style). Blaming an early game jungler is bad too but that's not the point here :p

So yes I agree. Bronze mentality, and it even exists in Diamond.

No two people completely agree on every aspect of the game. From what skills are OP to what strats work.

That said, item 3160 is getting removed in about a month.

Feral flare can also get stacks from kills or assists, so as long as your jungler is fast about their ganks, they can still be farming effectively.

And this is why i have stopped jungling. people expect an early gank from me playing WW. If i help out lanes early it puts me so far behind that I'm not likely to carry our mid-late game like i usually do. When i hit 6 i try to rotate ganks in with my ultimate cd but usually lanes are pushed too far for anything successful to happen. or people haven't been clearing wards.

It is a very bronze mentality. I love to play in solo lanes, especially mid (though i main adc) and i have zero expectations from my jungle at all times. I do not ask for buffs or ganks, i just play smart. Hit my skill shots, dodge theirs (try to lol), watch potion and ward usage of my lane and keep my flanks warded at all times. If a ward runs out, i stay away from that side. Just doing this wins me lane literally 80 percent of the time. Winning lane =/= winning games, and i tend to play strong early game champs, but playing smart is more important for ur own lane. Ward, dodge, ping mia, its wicked easy.

it IS true however that some junglers hurt their team by just farming for the first 15 mins. The reason this happens is because the other team knows what ur jungle is doing, they know he hasn't ganked anything. They know they only have to ward the exits to ur jungle and then push all the lanes in and boom easy early dragon, boom easy catch when mid goes to grab blue (u know if ur jungle actually gives u blue lol). This puts the lanes behind in terms of cs, since its harder to farm under tower, and then global gold if it results in dragons.

A FF jungle can't always bring a team back from the damage he had to deal in order to stack is FF. It depends on the lanes and the other players in the game (duh lol)

Lose lane report jungler has become the name of the game at practically every elo. I'm reading the comments, and most are from laners. So let me give you an explanation from a jungle main.

First of all, FF works only on a specific type of jungler: assassins who scale UP late game, benefit from AS ( usually build bork with FF), and can deal with slight mana issues (not talking about MadStone on this thread).

As a former top main (late S2) and mid main (S3) I make sure to know my matchups in the loading screen, and I will hover near the weakest lane ready to help. However, and this is crucial, low elo laners don't react optimally to your ganks. If you are Ryze top or Syndra mid, I fully expect you to enable my ganks. Otherwise, it's a waste of time to help and it could even cost me a buff or the dragon if I'm hovering near top.

I honestly hate to state it like this, but by picking a Feral jungler, I am intentionally choosing to adapt a selfish, hyperaggressive playstyle because I'm hoping to carry. I mained Xin Zhao to climb out of bronze and low silver by using an assassin-style build.

Lastly, as a note to laners, whining to your jungler that you just got ganked is not something you should do. If I'm feeling really nice, I'll donate a ward to your lane and even tell you to help yourself to my wraiths if you can't farm from being behind. If I'm not in a generous mood, I'll just ignore you and keep about my business. If you're toxic, you get muted and lose your gank/buff privileges. I'm not mean, I don't hate you, and I'm not going to call you names. I just don't have the patience to deal with you and I don't want to go into ragemode. I'm a person, too, and I'm playing LoL to distract myself from a stressful college life (math majors have loads of work).

TLDR play safe if you have a FF jungler, don't whine about getting ganked, dont QQ at me for your losing lane.

League has 5 "roles"; Top, Mid, ADC, Support, and Forest Support (jungle). If you're jungling and not providing tons of CC without taking kills, tanking red and blue, and smiting objectives, you're cancer to your team. That's the mentality.

To your team, getting a kill is a KS, warding their jungle produces no thank-you's, counter-jungling is a waste of time, and don't you dare go oom or have your ult down when you come to a lane!

We still jungle because we like it. Because playing Wukong or Pantheon or whoever you play is a blast to get fed on. Because you have more to pay attention to, less room for error (less gold and xp vs other players on the map) and more focus on you. It's fun. It's just not rewarding from a social standpoint.
