TOP LANERS READ

I've seen WAY to many top laners make 3 huge mistakes.

First off, you should almost always go teleport if you're top. Second, DON'T TELEPORT TO THE MINIONS. If you teleport to your own towers, it reduces the cooldown** by 100 seconds!** Third, during laning phase, unless you're getting absolutely facerolled, don't teleport back to lane. Walk... You need to save teleport for other important objectives.

  1. I don't agree with teleport being mandatory if you are confident that you can snowball your lane. Granted, teleport is potentially far more game breaking in that it gives you much more global pressure than a summoner spell which is only really good for one individual player. It just boils down to what champion you're playing and what your preferred play style is.

  2. If you're talking strictly for coming back to lane, then yes, I agree.

  3. Depends. If not TPing means I'm going to miss a huge wave of EXP (and thus fall further behind) then I will definitely use it. Though, if I'm already ass fucked and can't recover my lane regardless of whether I use tp, then yeah, I'd consider not using it for lane - but for drag or bot lane.

So much yes. Could you add that flash is as mandatory, if not more so, then teleport. So many times I have seen Teleport-Ignite, or Teleport-Heal. Flash is literally the best summoner spell in the game. Always take it, unless your champ can work with ghost, always take flash.

100 seconds!? I never even noticed that. I'm such a retard.

Exhaust if you are against a bursty top laner, I guess? You don't see those often though. Maybe talon. Maybe kha top? Very unlikely though.

ignite is best on champs if you want that 1st blood or early lane dominance. GP for example don't need tp because his ulti is global

I run exhaust ignite irelia/jax/shyvana top. Don't tell me what to do buddy.

Here's where teleport wouldn't be bad

Your team is a reliant team that needs a frontliner for dragon fights (majority of games) Take teleport.

here's where it wouldn't be good

You're playing a snowball champion like Riven and you are the main source of burst damage. Take ignite to snowball harder in lane and provide strong kill potential on enemy AD or mid.

Even in the second situation, having teleport would be far better than ignite. Since Riven is a snowball champ, you can easily win lane and then you would have a lot of damage output while still having map presence and more team fighting capability.

I always go teleport top lane. Proper use of teleport can get you ahead in lane or win your bot lane the game... It helps I have a methodical and strategic mindset and mostly use safe high utility top laners like Gnar or Lulu. Because I favor ranged champs I often have the advantage when it comes to creep control. I can passively cs and trim the wave near my tower more safely or push easier. I harass easier by killing one of their ranged creeps so creeps hurt less in trades while only pushing slowly so I can maximize my opportunity to poke them. If for some reason my opponent doesn't have teleport it's the easiest game ever. If I fail to harass them safely and take too much damage I can recall and tp back to base. If they try to push into my tower before recalling I TP back and force them away then freeze and if they try to stop me with their weakened state with an item disadvantage they die. Either way they lose a ton of EXP while they walk back to lane... gg top lane. Even better if I'm winning without tp'ing and I can appear bot lane and carry them.

Then later in the game I can split push to divide the enemy team even as someone like Lulu just because they chose not to take TP. All the while being available to anything that might happen. It's just really stupid for a top laner not to run TP IMO even as Riven who is just a cheesey solo queue champ in my opinion.

Couldn't have explained it any better.

If they try to push into my tower before recalling I TP back and force them away then freeze and if they try to stop me with their weakened state with an item disadvantage they die. That's what I was trying to get at, in so many words. For me, it's a must.

dude its 60 secs,it gives 100 secs cooldown if u cancel it.

I hate it when people make blatant rules like this. Your "rules" are not correct.

Tank/Bruiser? Sure take TP. Bursty AP? Take flash ignite. Every time I go Annie top I bring flash+ignite and always wipe out those tank/bruisers who cannot retaliate.
