Ok. I'm canadian. And buddhist. And even i have trouble staying cool sometimes.

When mad tho i try to remember this:

You being toxic to your team is the enemy's greatest reward.

Forget the gold and xp from a kill. If your enemy can get you destroying your team from the inside, the human real life side, THAT will almost garen-tee their victory. Some players use all chat to do just that.

Toxic players are never an asset. They are worse for your team than a lvl 1 noob.

Luke 6:31 (NIV) – [Jesus said,] Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Whenever I’m tempted to say something negative, I look back to the times when I fed, made a mistake, tried my best but failed, or did a similar mistake. I just feel worse than I already do when someone rages against me, justified or not. If someone is silent, it’s a relief; if someone says we all have bad games, I try that much harder.

Think of the person as your best friend/spouse and then talk. If you can’t, tape your mouth shut (ie put duct tape on your keyboard!)

Toxicity stems from your personality and how you respond to certain situations. Heres some tips i recommend you use to improve your toxic behavior:

  1. If some1 says something very offensive to you or you feel the urge to type something toxic (when you're angry, the text you type might not seem toxic but it may be toxic to others), press "enter" to open the chat box and type what you want to type. AFTERWARDS, backspace and erase it all. DONT press enter. Its self-meditating to do this because you're able to type what you want but you never send the text so it doesn't hurt anyone. Similar concept to a hate letter than you don't send out.

  2. Mute everyone on your team if you can't deal with other players' comments. If all chat gets you riled , turn off "all chat" in options.

  3. if you're still pretty pissed off after a game ends, take a break. Play another game or do something else that will help you "cool off". You should definitely do this if you have a tendency to carry your negativity from one game on to the next.

Hope this helps.

I turned all chat completely off, and encourage my teammates to not talk to the other team, and since I turned it off, I've won 75% more games. I suggest that because if you can't see them talking, they won't bother you.

Listening to your team can be helpful. I just listen to music from a game, interlocked, and that really helps me.

One of the tactics a good jungler use is to camp a lane (preferably top) since top laners are more likely to bitch and afk.

"lmao kid ur lucky my jungler is shit, u win this time im afk"

Camping a lane makes the enemy laner go on tilt and (but not really likely to go) afk, making the game 4v5.

So remember if you're toxic you're giving the enemy an advantage.

For me, I stop being toxic by stop typing "HOLY THIS ADC SO SHIT LMAO" and just say it in front of my screen so that my shit ADC will not be knowing how bad he is and go on tilt. I let him know that I would like to know what the fk he is doing by typing "???". Or I just type "what the fuck r u doin corki" and erase it instead of pressing enter.

Just think about how pointless it is to make people feel bad, especially your own teammates.

Understand that, and then go out of your way to say positive things to your teammates.

And if someone says something that even slightly annoys you or shows even a hint of toxicity - just mute them. That way you never get baited into a flame war or something.

Muting people doesn't affect team communication as much as you might think. They can still read what you write in chat, and they can communicate to you with pings. I bet most of the time people don't even realize they've been muted.

Due to I have a lot of experience in this with chat restrictions and ranked restrictions, and I mean 50+ chat game restrictions and 30+ game MUST WIN draft win games. My BEST ADVICE...MUTE EVERYONE. I promise you it is the only way to control your rage and don't type all game. Just ping if you lose you have to have the screw it mentality and keep trucking. I love this game too but I get mad a lot and that is how I control it if I start tilting. If not I would suggest taking a few days off like I do at times to cool off. Be warned if it gets too out of control I would fear the time and money you spent with the Ban Hammer coming in and taking everything you worked so hard away. I know it sucks but if you do this you will get better than you can start un muting and chatting again. Hope this helps!
