Does riven take skill

Personally i think riven does take a lot of skill to play well. Playing well meaning using every aspect of your kit correctly. I play riven a lot and am fairly decent with her. But when i do play her people yell and bitch about how unskilled she is to play. Now its up to you does riven take skill yes or no, nothing else don't dance around it. Also bronze players don't get to vote on this.

If u screw up her first combo, dun worry. Try it again in 5 seconds or so, she doesnt use mana anyway unlike other skillful top champs does.

It's easy to be mediocre with Riven but hard to be good with her. Anyone can mash buttons and be all 'lol my combo yo' but then they try that in a teamfight and get annihilated. She's easier than most to lane with and pretty forgiving of mistakes due to her low cooldown, but what tells a good Riven from a meh one is what happens after laning phase is over and she has to fight in situations that aren't 1v1.

its pretty easy to tell the difference between a good riven and a bad one.

There's a difference in critical thought and rank. Ask for civil discussion, but don't say that someone's opinion doesn't matter if they have a certain rank. I hate Lee Sin, but I give other players advice on counterplay so he's less frustrating to fight against instead of complaining about how he's OP (I dont think he is, I just think he has a little too much going on).

A fed Riven is a nightmare, yes, because she can build glass cannon and have the durability/mobility of a bruiser with that shield and jump. However, all it takes to shut her down is a few wards when she's roaming and some good ol' teamwork. It's unorganized teams that get annihilated by her, and I played her once or twice. I'd say she takes skill to play, but it also requires skill to shut her down.

Yes, she takes a fair bit of skill to play. Is she the most difficult champ to master? No. Is she the easiest? Not by a long shot.

Is the required level of skill relative to her reward? Yes. You play her well and build decently, she's very rewarding.

Yeah she definitely takes skill, with auto cancelling, and wall-hopping. But if fed, she has no need for those things because of how her abilities are the best scaling in the game, all with AD. At that point, you could miss every Q and still kill them.

No, the last time I played her I literally mashed my keys and won a 1v3. She doesn't take any additional skill than any other champion, you just have to know how she works, which you know... applies to every champion, you have to know what the opposing champions can do and how much damage they can take+do, which once again, this applies to every champion you play. Her low cool downs and no resource cost means there is no management to be done, there's never a wrong time to use your abilities, because they cost nothing and will be up fairly soon. Her mobility and cc makes her very reliable, which then makes it easier to actually carry when you actually know what you're doing.

The you can tell a good riven from a bad is rather silly, as you can tell the difference between a good player from a bad player using any champion.

I'm not sure what's with everyone trying to act like their waifus require so much more skill than every other champion.

If slapping the keyboard until the enemy dies takes skill, then I guess your right.

The ADC Wizard3/15/2015, 7:30:16 AM1 votes

Much less skill than yasuo.

Paldor12/1/2015, 11:27:44 PM1 votes

It takes skill to master a champion, not to play "well".

OperationDEEZ12/19/2015, 2:19:03 AM1 votes

Chunk half the enemy's health with Q W, E out. Repeat 5 seconds later when your cooldowns are over.

OhOkYeah2/19/2015, 9:13:00 AM1 votes

I don't think she does. I just use the EQW combo. Rarely even use the ult which is a shame because it's really nice, but things just die after the first combo. Not much skill involved. You can even build tanky and use the same combo to 2-3 shot any thing.

Gunpoint2/23/2015, 12:17:58 AM1 votes

It's not so much skill as it is knowledge of her ability to cancel her animations. Beyond that she's pretty easy.

Aww Kat2/25/2015, 11:18:14 PM1 votes

absolutely not

everyone you encounter that says riven doesn't take any skill just look at what champ they are using and ask yourself. does their champ take any skill to play? cause most likely they are play no skilled champs that are 10X easier than riven. imo yeah, she does take skill to play. especially when you get zoned by the entire enemy team and when you get camped by jungler which more than likely if they are a good jungler and team they will.

Wullf3/4/2015, 8:12:18 AM1 votes

she does take quite a skill. But that only mechanical skill. "You have to press this now".

I actually think that she is pretty stupid champion. Low cooldowns lots of mobility lots of sustain and lots of damage.

She might be balanced but It is sure not fun playing against her, almost as much as playing against teemo.
