How to not fear ranked?

So after friends pestering me about doing provisional to see where I end up finally did it and ended in S4. Currently 10W/4L I still feel worried about doing ranked. Every time I try to find a new champ to add to my roster of things I would take into ranked I never feel like I do good enough. (Yes I am a garbage ADC/Mid laner and I just can't find a go to champ or 2 for those roles.)

Edit: TL;DR What standards did you set for yourself til you felt like you could take X champion into ranked?

What helped me the most is spamming the same champions for each role in normal blind pick. So for me it looked like this. If i have to...

Top. I go garen, no matter what. Jungle. Volibear, everytime. Mid. Ahri every time Adc. Lucian every time Support. leona, every time.

This way you will become very familiar with your champion for each role. Even if you get hard countered you will learn how to play against that counter. For instance for me i went against alot of teemo top as garen. After changing my rune page up and starting boots and pots i was able to just hard engage teemo everytime he went to poke me out of lane.

I mostly just stopped caring about my ranking. Ranked is basically my normals now. I only play actual normals when I have too many people in my party for ranked.

Just play a shit load of ranked to desensitize yourself.

Ah.. I remember I used to be afraid of ranked a year ago!

Find a champion (or two) that you play extremely well in. Spam that champion in solo queue. Preferably one that is of meta lol. If you can't get that role or champion, you have to make sure you know how to play in other roles at least decently. The standard I set up for myself was to see if I won lane with this specific champion more than 50% of the time. Then I increased it to 70%. Since you said you're uncomfortable at ADC and mid, you need to learn how to play these roles until you jump into ranked. For ADC, I would suggest Caitlyn. She's easy to play and has a huge range; good for people who cannot position well.

If you want to climb ranked, there is no other way but to play ranked. There will be your ups and downs (I went from gold 1 promos to gold 5 0 points last season) but you will learn from your mistakes and climb back up. Good luck!
