Would this make Akali managable?

I know a lot of people are saying Akali is OP nerf her but everyone focuses on the shroud. I agree the tower/shroud mechanic is dumb but why don't we try something that makes less sense.

Take away her Q healing.

Five Point Strike TARGET RANGE: 500 COST: 100 / 95 / 90 / 85 / 80 energy COOLDOWN: 1.5 Five Point Strike

Active: Akali throws a flurry of kunais in the target direction, dealing magic damage to enemies hit. Enemies hit at maximum range are also Slow icon slowed by 50% for 0.5 seconds.

Magic Damage: 25 / 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 (+ 65% AD) (+ 50% AP)

Five Point Strike 2

While at 180 energy or above, hitting at least one enemy causes Akali to Heal power heal for a percentage of Five Point Strike's premitigation damage.

Healing Percentage:» 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40%

At rank 5, deals 33.3% bonus damage to minions killed and monsters.

This is the current Akali Q. 20-40% healing of premitigated damage that is not reduced by the AoE rule. item 3157 item 3089 item 3100 item 3135 item 3146 item 3020 are common akali items giving her 595AP totaling to +238AP on her Q totaling 363 damage for each target hit by her Q not to mention +40 AD from gunblade, AD scaling, and the +20ap from adaptive force. So you heal 145 damage per target hit. +33.3% per minion or monster.

Now lets look at Vladimir's Q the BLOOD MAGE whoms quirk is "I get tanky and have tons of sustain"

Transfusion TARGET RANGE: 600 COOLDOWN: 9 / 8 / 7 / 6 / 5 Transfusion

Active: After a 0.25-second delay Vladimir drains the lifeforce of the target enemy, dealing magic damage and Heal power healing himself.

Magic Damage: 80 / 100 / 120 / 140 / 160 (+ 60% AP)

Heal: 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 (+ 35% AP)

Each cast of Transfusion generates a stack of Bloodthirst over its cooldown, which is displayed in his secondary resource bar. At 2 stacks, Vladimir gains Crimson Rush for 2.5 seconds and 10% bonus movement speed for 0.5 seconds. Crimson Rush

Crimson Rush: Transfusion deals 85% increased damage and heals for an additional 30 − 200 (based on level) (+ 5% (+ 4% per 100 AP) missing health), reduced to 35% against minions.

Empowered Damage: 148 / 185 / 222 / 259 / 296 (+ 111% AP)

for the same amount of AP for the sake of argument 208AP to vladimir's Q. Remember its 35% of 595 AP.

Vladimir Q rank 5 Heal: is 208+40=248 Single Target Akali Q rank 5 Heal: is 363-40%= 145 Single Target

If Akali hits more than 1 thing with Q she out heals vladimir.

"But Vlad also heals off W and R" Both have long cooldowns and wouldn't be used to sustain in lane.

This bugs me not because she out heals Vladimir spell for spell but because Lore wise there is no suggestion of vampiric ninja arts.

Ninjas in game. Kennen Shen Zed Ninjas that don't heal. Kennen Shen Zed Melee Mids in game. Aatrox Akali Diana Ekko Fizz Galio Irelia Kassadin Katarina Talon Yasuo Melee Mids that don't heal. Aatrox Diana Fizz Galio Irelia Kassadin Katarina Talon Yasuo Remind you Ekko heals from his ultimate.

Why does Akali get healing from throwing daggers? Why does Akali heal from her wave clear? Why is Akali a rogue that can out heal a blood mage? Why don't other ninjas heal?

Take away her healing so she can be weak to something like poke mages.

PS: I am not a math major so I am not going to mess up vladimir's health to AP math. I doubt anyone will actually read this anyways just got bored.

I think you're making the wrong changes. I don't think sustain is actually a problem on her. She's not overpowered, her winrate attests to that, she's just too annoying to play AGAINST.

If they tied Akali's energy regen to actually being successful on the champ(ie. energy regen on her empowered attacks or on jumping in with shuriken, or something else like that), in stead of simply having the energy regen be just 'when you use shroud, congrats - free energy)... and if they extended the time she 'left' her shroud when taking action by say, half a second(so you have time to react and do something in response to it)... I feel like she'd suddenly be in a better place from a satisfaction point of view.
