I was playing normals, seemed like a normal game...........then i realized their ryze went bot like how do you beat lucian top, he just dashes and tries to kite whenever I try to engage and I couldnt cs coz he woulld just aa me to death
gap close -> immediate cc -> hit him hard no hard cc? bummer ;l well, not all match-ups are winnable
they outpoke you but top laners have better sustain than the adc try trading after you see him shoot his laser
its a skill match up the more you can trade with him while sustaining through his pokes.. like every range champ that ever went top you will force them out

its called jungles help. its a team game. and if u had engage potentional. other than that, nothing.
Most top laners have a form of gap closer, If he dashed to harrass you, his dash would be on CD, and since if he had built purely damage, chances are you can engage on the fight and out trade him.
Marksmen with mobility have always been really REALLY good against melee top laners that lack gap closers, CC and burst. Vayne and Quinn are the 'standard' top lane Marksmen and they murder the living shit out of most melee top laners. Vayne even has true damage to ignore whatever armor you build, a mobility skill, and a knockback incase you get onto her twice.
Yeeeup, working as intended. Most Marksmen have never really been 'weak' in lane, they just go with a support to stabilize the lane so they can get as much gold as possible.
