What role and champ should I be playing?

I need help figuring out which role and champion I should be playing for solo-queue.

I've tried every role, each has its benefits, however I know for a fact I will NOT play mid-lane. It's simply too much for me to pay attention to.

Here's a little info about me as a player:

  • I dislike champions with long wind-up or slow missile speed for their Auto-Attack. It really messes with my ability to CS.
  • I don't like mid lane, too much pressure and too many methods of ingress that I have to watch for ganks.
  • I don't like playing mages. They run out of mana quickly and their items are very expensive.
  • I enjoy mobile champions. Preferably with a disengage or a wall-jump.
  • I enjoy champions with CC and some tank, I don't mind having a sub-par KDA if it means getting my team the win long term.
  • I enjoy straightforward champions. I dislike the overloaded or complex ones. That said I don't like champions that are "AA to win".
  • I don't want to get into challenger, my goal is to make it to gold and stay there.
  • I like having influence in a game. I like being a threat.

My ranked history:

  • I hit level 30 in October of 2014
  • I lost 7 out of my provisional 10 games while playing support through each game
  • Got placed in Silver 5
  • Been up for promotion to Silver 4 twice during Season 4 but didn't make it through both times.
  • After Season 4 ended, I was demoted to Bronze 1 after being continuously put on teams with AFKers or trolls.
  • I'm still in Bronze 1. Stuck. I'll have a few great games, gain some LP and then have it all taken away by losing the next match or two because of someone either AFKing or trying to play a champion they don't know because it's a "counter".

I say you'd work out well in the top lane or in the jungle; you've ruled out mid lane, and bot lane's meta is full of "AA to win" champs and mage-like supports.

I suppose playing a tanky support in bot lane (Leona, Braum, Thresh ) would fit your preferences, but that's for you to find out.

Going off your wish list, I'd say Vi is the way to go:

  • She's straightforward, no extremely complex mechanics
  • Her Q can go through walls = very mobile and versatile; like having a low-cooldown summoner 4
  • Has some CC with her Q's knockback and her ult; very nice ganking
  • She CAN have some mana issues if you're spamming E all of the time while farming, but as you get your items, your need to spam goes down
  • Can be VERY influencing, whether as a carry or helping secure kills
  • IS FUN.

sooo you like straightfoward champs... but follow that up "dont like AA2win champs" sooo that discards alot of bruisers and alot of ADCs.... so you want mobile casters... whom arent very tanky but wait you dont like mages or mid lane ugh my head hurt...

dammit man, ease up on the restrictions top laners: straight forward sometimes tanky, sometimes mobile, sometimes have CC, generally AA2win champs which you dont like for some reason mid laners: just gonna rule this out cuz you dont like it bot laners: adcs.. which is a glorified ranged AA2win champ or support whom are technically mages you dislike so much

Jinx is slow when shooting missiles but if you max out her Q, her Machine Gun is like the best turret killer. She also has somewhat, some CC. Not heavy though.

I suggest for ADC, getting Berserker Greaves if you dislike the slow AA. Many people choose Pickaxe over Tier 2 Boots but trust me, it'll come in handy.

A character that I like is blitzcrank he's good for top lane he has average atk his mana regen is average ,but you should be ok if you don't over use spells his q is good because you can pull the closest character in range toward you and get some good hits on him his e is useful because when he attacks next they take extra damage and and are sent into the air making escape hard for them finally if you don't want to get to close to minnions and melee characters without going into turret fire use his r it's a area of effect that sends out a electric shock that does damage to the them I cant remember if it stuns or not though.

Hm. Renekton, Shyvana (no wall jump, small CC) , Shen , Trundle (no wall jump) , Vladimir (no wall jump), Yorick (no wall jump), Udyr (no wall jump, autoattack reliant) , Nasus (no wall jump), Gragas (mage) might all be good for you.
