It irks me when people say "GG EZ"

Whenever I hear "GG EZ", I don't think I could possibly pray harder for the ability to punch people through my computer screen.

So I just report them for Negative Attitude. It's annoying and presumptuous.

Hiya Oopsie (love the name BTW)!

As a parent of two 8-year olds, I spend a lot of time reinforcing the value of being a gracious winner. I tell them, "if you aren't a gracious winner, your brother won't want to play with you any more."

Rubbing it in is easy. Inspiring the losing team to jump right back on the horse is hard.

So yes, I agree, it's irksome. No, you shouldn't have to tolerate it or "grow a spine". It takes far more bravery to hold each other to a higher standard than it does to simply turn a blind eye and simply accept it as "part of the game."

Thank you for this confirmation. I often find myself reporting for negative attitude for similar comments and I'm glad that Riot's stance on sportsmanlike behavior includes graciousness in victory.

I, like many, try to reflect this idea in my interactions and it can be quite disheartening when other players are rude even when they win.

I believe certain reports should should notify somewhat is the player is getting punished or is close to it. I can understand the power I can make the players feel but knowing helps a player feel like hes in a justified community. I would just ask if at least given thought of and that Riot could make it work somehow.

I'm not saying it's in any way right, or any form of unsportsmanlike conduct no matter how indirect, but "gg ez" is supposed to irk you. That's why people say it in the first place. It's not a sportsmanlike thing to say.

It's actually kind of a contradictory statement, anyway. A good game indicates it was fun, friendly, and competitive throughout. Something you'd remember fondly, essentially, whether you won or lost. The "gg ez" statement nullifies that possibility, so they're really just saying, "You suck." That's it. That's the essence of the statement.

It's not the worst thing people can say, of course. But unsportsmanlike conduct is still unsportsmanlike conduct, and I don't care if it's not considered "severe" harassment just because there are worse things you can say or do. Being a sore winner or sore loser is a black-and-white thing reflected by statements like that.

That was long-winded, I know, but I'm just getting sick as hell of seeing people say that in post-game, because they become unmuted at that point, for some stupid reason. If I mute them in-game for being a trolling prick, I obviously don't want to hear their trolling post-game, either.

My favorite is when someone says 'GG EZ' and it was a 40+ minute game. If it was 'ez' they would have finished it 15 - 20 minutes ago. I just laugh at those idiots.

If someone finishes the game in 20 minutes or less and then says it, I wouldnt even report them.

Everyone is so soft and easily offended.

And yet you're defending that behavior. Think about what you're saying. You are defending negative behavior, and saying that it's spineless to call it out, to say it's wrong, yet you are doing the same thing right now. Now ask yourself: is it better to defend holding ourselves to a higher standard of decency, or to defend the right to lower our standards and no longer be civil?

It's easy to throw an insult and put someone down, but it takes a real man/woman to say that's not okay.

i say it regardless..thats how i was taught to do it when i was a kid. you shake your opponents hand and say good game after every match win lose or draw, its just good sportsmanship

What if it genuinely wasn't a good game? If the enemy team is 3v5 and you guys stomp the everloving piss out of them, it wasn't a good game, not for them anyways. A little sympathy and compliments helps ease the pain of a thrown-down-the-pooper game

I agree with FoggyPaws, when it's not a good game, i just say 'sorry about this mess of a game' or something, then either leave or engage in sympathetic talks. No point of saying it's a good game if it isn't one.
