She can spellshield his deathmark if you press it when he goes untargetable on you.

Sivir is also an excellent utility carry with kite, backdoor potential, waveclear, and soft engage/disengage. She has a lot of things that make her a good choice, and she's only barred from being ideal due to her low range and lategame damage relative to other carries.
