There is the mute button, just use it!

Seriously, it's so useful. In my last game I played terribly. I was forced into mid Annie, that I don't play, against a skilled Zed who capitalised on every mistake I made. I died a lot, and of course of my jungler started flaming instantly. I'm the type of player who hates arguements, and I tend to tilt a lot, especially if my teammates point out the obvious things to me. Soon the guy started accusing me in all chat that I intentionally feed, and that's when I pressed the mute button. I still had problems, I still couldn't fight the enemy Zed, but I started catching up and feeling more and more in control of the game, eventually getting kills in teamfights. I got calm and started encouraging the team that we are coming back. I only realised that I muted Xin, when the enemy J4 started defending me in all chat. I realised that, I was ready to leave the game (though I never do that) because of my feeding and the raging, and by the end I felt happy and joked around about getting my first kill at 26 minutes. Mute won the game for me. Also if any of you who read this, if someone on your team is feeding, flaming him won't help at all. He is already having a hard time trying not to get dived again, if you are pointing out how worthless he is, he will lose focus even more. And if you die because you weren't paying attention to the game while typing "report XY", you deserve a special badge that shouldn't disappear like the honor crests.

My adc and I were doing poorly because Thresh was predicting which way I would juke (I ALWAYS juke down, and good Thresh and Blitz learn this and adjust.) and my adc just plain didn't bother dodging. Left laning phase 0/5/1, so I started roaming mid and top and river to secure drags and try to get things done while Vayne farmed. Walked into a bush that I wasn't aware was warded and the fed Yi at that point just ate me. Our mid Ekko was constantly typing '...' into chat at every mistake any of us made, and I finally got tired of it and told him that typing ellipses doesn't help. He responded that it was more helpful than whatever I was doing, because my kda sucked. So I muted him, and focused on the game. We pulled a win from that terrible game.

The problem isn't that mute is there, I believe people do know that. I think that we shouldn't feel like we have to use it though. Some people will actually say that they can scream what they want because we have a mute button. It's sad that we do need it, although it's good it's there for when we do.

I do agree with this however. I hate muting people, and try to avoid it when I can. I tell people I've muted them so they won't waste time typing to me, and sometimes I tell them I've muted them but actually don't, just so they'll stop berating me and I can still halfway communicate by at least seeing what they type pertaining to the game objectives.

whenever I'm having a bad game I mute the whole team. When my teams having a bad game I mute them too. I play a lot of support and I'd say I have to mute about......40% of my adc's before the game hits 10 minutes. When I jungle its almost always a full team mute session. I haven't been banned all season. Lol. I used to get banned all the time. When I cant see the bullshit they type to me I never respond. But yeah, if I start off 0 and 2 I mute everyone and just start focusing.

I got destroyed in lane by a chogath last night as darius. I was like 1-7 at one point. I think I ended like 12 and 13. I muted the whole team after he killed me the second time. No one ever came to help me either. I just kept farmin, kept farmin. Ended up winning and I was totally a factor even though I thought I wouldn't be.

Yep, use mute. But also make sure to report when appropriate. Mute is a short term solution. It's never going to deal with the underlying issues.

Having to mute teammates should be the exception, not the norm.

So much this. I had a game recently as thresh. Our jungle Eve decided to yell at me and Vayne because we were losing lane to a kalista and morg pretty bad. After a bit of arguing, I decided to just mute her and went on to win the game because I was less concerned about arguing and more concerned about just focusing on playing and getting back into the game.

Why would you always "juke" down? Why wouldn't you mix it up?

Oh you returned it in kind!!! ohhhh forsooth!

It's becoming apparent you have bigger problems than down votes.

It's kind of insane that you can't dodge in a different direction. That's like zoolander crazy. And if that IS truly the case then stay out of PVP (or at least ranked) until you fix that. It's such a basic thing, and the fact that you're aware of it and still do it is kind of the definition of sucking. It "sucks" that you know you do this thing and yet continue to ruin the experience of other players over and over. It's borderline intentional feeding. "Whenever I see a blitz guys I'm gonna move the same way and probably get grabbed ok? I'm working on it!" How is someone supposed to respond to that?
