Since Veigar is the "Anti-Mage", alot of people were disagreeing and saying for me to not pick Leblanc. The reason I choose Leblanc against Veigar is because I can shut him down early. Should I start picking up an AD Champ or go ahead and stick with Leblanc?
Zed/Talon/Yasuo can also shut him down early without getting oneshot later because they don't build AP. Leblanc works, of course, and so could any other champion, but those objectively are a better pick.
If Veigar was really Squirtle, and LeBlanc was really Charmander, I'd tell you to pick something else. But league isn't a pokemon card game, is it?
I guess what I'm saying is.. Champion comfort > "counter-picking"

Tough call. You've got the right idea, shut down Veigar early and hard, but I imagine late game gets difficult for you. You could possibly avoid some problems by minimizing your AP and building maximum magic pen, having an abyssal scepter, and being really twitchy on your Zhonyas.
Myself, I run Xerath into Veigar, since I can deal damage while comfortably outside of Veigar's range.
