Is Evelynn worth playing now
I have been wanting to give Evelynn a try but I'm scared too because I have heard so many thing about her. Can she jungle at all? Can she play anywhere on else on the map like mid? Any build advice would be great too.

very situational, you have to have a top tank and a Support tank, in order to be able to use her...then you also have to have a decent opposite jungle match up.
Realize that she is horrible at split pushing if you build her full AP and if you build AD in order to help on turrets her AP damage will suffer.
Also Ranked is way more likely to use pinks and sweepers to find her, than Norms.
Not sure about all these "doable" responses. Evelynn is quite good right now. She's a fairly popular pick in high ELO atm. She's nothing near pick or ban status, but she sees a healthy amount of play.
I can't give much build advice as I only recently got her and have used her 2 times so far.
But I can answer a few questions.
First, Evelynn can jungle. Her first clear is either very slow or will take a bit of health, but after that they go faster. Where she shines though is in ganking. Her stealth allows her to get very close to enemy champs who aren't using pink wards, and you can use that surprise you great advantage.
Second, you can try Evelynn elsewhere, but she really relies on her stealth, so laning with her takes away that advantage. I've heard some people have been successful top lane.
As for build, as people have said its situational. She scales off both AP and AD so it comes down to what you want her items to give her. most people seem to build her bruiser with only a couple of damage items and then defense.

Recommend Magus + Triforce into tank items on her. If you're ahead you can build more damage and if you're behind you can go IBG instead of triforce.
If you ever get ridiculously far ahead try Sword of the Occult + Mejais together. It's hilarious.
Only if you want to play a tank. Riot has really hurt her game to the point where she's not an assassin and she can't really be a fighter anymore either. If you build her damage, real tanks will laugh at her and carries will blow her up once she's visible.
I dare say Eve is a viable pick in normals. In ranked, you'll need to have a lot of practice and discipline to do well.
You can easily jungle with her til plat elo. Just spend more time in the enemy jungle hunting for THEIR jungle and watch them rage on allcaht all game.
i play her full ap mid. she melts people and i have so much fun doing so.
If you're talking about normals sure, go for it.
Ranked? If you want to climb with less effort there are much better picks.

Don't play lee/jax/diana jungle there not worth the effort if you're only looking to climb
Am I saying evelyn is complete trash? No, I'm just saying you need to be much more skilled with her to do the same amount of work as other champs.
But really don't pick her when cinderhulk still isn't nerfed, it's damage is insane atm

Build depends on how much gold you are getting and what your team comp needs from you, she has enough flexibility to do okay with multiple build paths. Damage is less useful when you are behind (though you always need to build some) because you will die before doing enough to be worth while, especially when behind in levels. If you have all the money on your team, pure defense is useless because you will still die before your team gets any work done. CDR is always very good to build.
Top and Mid are doable, but are very hard. If you look for replays on Lolking, there are some high ranked Eve mains that play her in those lanes you can watch to learn how.
