Just bought Fizz
Needed a new mid laner so I ended up getting Fizz. I've always liked him ever since I started playing league, its about time I bought him lol. Havent played any games with him yet. Any tips for playing him?

w q and then out play your lane opponent by pressing e. Don't take your ult, you don't even need it.
Play is safe early game and farm as well as you can, most laners will try to poke you before you have your (reliable) kill potential on them. Save your e until an enemy actually tries to attack you with something, such as any cc, using it before will leave you open to be hit. Your q can also be conveniently used as an escape provided some minions or someone ganking gets you a good angle. E can be used to jump over smaller walls as well.
Later in the game when you have ult up, if you can e near someone and slow them, immediately put your ult down on them, and it's almost a guranteed kill. Roam if you can, if you can't, try to murder the lane opponent as hard as you can if it is safe to do so, and then roam if you have the hp/time for it.
Standard 
start will work for most lanes, get boots if you cant afford sheen on first back, and go for lichbane if you have an early lead. (<-- How i personally play)
i think you max his e first. his e is very strong.
dont be afraid to start crystalline flask and build a dorans ring or two before getting started on your lich bane. fizz is pretty weak early on but he scales extremely well and is probably the best teamfighting assassin in the game.

Don't be dumb. It seeems pretty obvious, but when the only time I have ever lost to Fizz is my first time playing against him and when I had a mirror match (I had just got the fish) against a Fizz main it really isn't all that obvious. Don't try to fight early even though you do a lot of damage because you won't one shot your opponent, and you'll quickly run out of mana. You aren't ranged so be prepared to get poked a lot, but even so don't be affraid to get cs that's what potions are for. Don't be afraid to cs with your playful trickster, but if your going to make sure you have vision, know where the enemy jungler is, or atleast have flash up or be in a position where you can use your q to escape. Coordinate ganks with your jungler. If your playing with a Vi her ult can make landing your ult easier than snaring someone with ryze, and it will almost always gurantee you a kill (I have a jungle main friend I know ganks with CC are very powerful when playing as fizz). Finally roam. You do a ton of damage, and your playful trickster makes it very easy to tower dive. So get in and get out. Securing a few kills from ganks will really help in lane where you are most likely not having a super easy time.
Oh and start with flask. I've seen people start with doran's ring, but it very rarely works.

Max E first, you sometimes you might want to put several points into W for cheap damage (especially against melee champions).
