Help with Fiddlesticks

Hello LoL Boards, I could use some help. So I've been attempting to learn Fiddlesticks recently, and its been going horribly. I just can't seem to figure him out and its a real pain for me since I'm someone who normally picks up champions very fast. The main problem I'm encountering is that no matter what I try to build or how I play I either die a lot, or I don't really contribute. I can't seem to ever successfully gank people early as they just walk away or use flash for a free escape. Then I end up getting pretty much one-shot every single fight if I ever go in. Even when I finally finish Zhonya's, people will literally stand in my ult and wait for it to end to kill me because I do from 2-3 abilities. The only time I find any success playing Fiddle is when their team either has very few stuns or no escape abilities. Even if these situation however, I still do horrible sometimes. For example, in my last game there was a Diana mid who basically spent the whole game roaming into my jungle and one-shotting me QR with no way for me to survive. I pretty much had four wards on the map at all time and yet I still couldn't do anything as I can't ward the whole map and my team wouldn't help me when she showed up at my buffs. This is the first time I've really felt like giving up on learning a champion.

I'm sorry the post is a bit of a mess, but I can't really find a good way to really describe the problems I am having with him and I am typing this late at night. If you think you can help, let me know. I would really like to figure him out.

TL;DR I can't for the life of me figure out how to make Fiddle work, try to help if you can.

I mained Fiddles season 3 and 4 and I don't want to touch him now. He is out classed by early ganking junglers as well as the new tank meta junglers. His constant nerfs have also made lane Fiddles pretty shitty. Play someone else lol.

I don't think that Fiddle is very useful regardless before level 6 except for the fear when you're ganking. He's a great jungler if you have the right team comp to back it up. What are you building on him as the first two complete items?

IMO one of the biggest things for fiddlesticks is knowing when to ult and then full combo to secure kills and when to ult and instantly zhonyas. Sometimes if you're just catching one or two people, especially ones with no hard cc, you can ult in (ALWAYS FROM A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE CAN'T INTERRUPT YOUR CHANNEL), fear, crow, and drain. You can easily get a kill that way, especially if the champion is squishy. If you ult+zhonyas, you need your team to follow up otherwise people can just walk out of your ult. I don't consider myself THE BEST fiddlesticks player, but personally, I wait until a main engage is made and the enemy team bunches together onto the tank or whatever.

The thing about the Diana is really unfortunate, though. That's not really something that happens all the time though, and your team really should've helped you. Just make sure you're noticing when Diana is and isn't in lane. If she's not visible in any lane, he's most likely taking a buff/objective or looking for you.

Fiddlesticks is a very very immobile champion, but he really excels in his dueling. If you ever find yourself caught out by one champion and they don't have much hard cc (which you should bait out before starting your w or ult channel), just turn on them and fight. A lot of the time, you'll either kill them or do tons of damage because they're just sitting in your drain.

I do agree that he's not the best right now because of the tank meta, but it's solo queue so you don't HAVE to play a tank jungler if you don't want to.

I don't play Fiddle, so I won't even attempt to guide you on how to use him, but keep in mind that his kit doesn't fit the style you are playing right now. If you are still struggling with him after a bit more play, try putting him on the backburner for a while, learn a few other champs, then try him again. He is definitely worth learning, but sometimes the best way to learn a champ is just to wait and try again later when your game knowledge and skill have changed.

I've played fiddle support here and there and found some success. I usually build frost queens and ss and then move from there to full ap (if I can get a jg to build some other tanky supp items). Overall, fiddle is in a tough area right now. I wouldn't play him jg for sure and I wouldn't play him solo lane because he would get nuked or ganked to oblivion.

Middlesticks and Jungle both require a coordinated team. You're still an AP Carry, you're still squishy in team fights. I absolutely still think he's a great champ and he's a clutch counter pick to enter melee engage mids; Kat / Talon / LB / Yasuo. If you can time your fear, the moment they close distance, Fear, drain, silence, rinse repeat, dead.

In the Jungle I don't enter at river for any lane, sneak your approach, if you just straight walk in with a non-gap closing JG expect the flash and they will be gone. Need to change up your tactic.
