Champs with sustain

Hey guys. I've been practicing Vlad top lane for a while now and have had lot's of fun with him, minus that parts where I go against Darius and his freaking bleed!!! :I but anywaaays. I wanted to expand my champion pool for top lane. I've tried others before I've had little success and now I find that I'm better with champs that can sustain. I'm a tank support main so staying in fights or just staying alive longer is what I do best. Just wanted to know if there are any other top lane tanks that can sustain like Vlad. Ranged would be nice as well since the "OP" top lane champs (Jax, Fiora, Riven, Darius, etc.)still kind of scare

My favorite champs are those with good Sustain and Waveclear. Some of my favorites:

Morgana My main, my lady-love, my dark goddess. Strong waveclear, built-in Spellvamp that scales with level,strong engage/CC, positively nasty ult, and the ability to shrug off CC and spell damage.

Gangplank Yaaarrr! Great poke, nasty crit potential, good dueling,powerful, pressuring AoE ult, and both a strong AS steroid (that boosts allies) , and CC negating heal.

Irelia Strong pressure, good poke, passive heal. Can hit like a truck. CC resistance.

DrMundo Heavy poke, ridiculous survivability - there's no good distance to fight Mundo from.

RekSai Strong AoE , good burst, remarkably good map-control and roaming potential, sustain while you travel. Good CC (in brief spurts).

Swain is pretty much the king of sustainy tank mages, if you like vlad then you should definitely learn to play swain.

Alright here are some good options for tanky top laners with sustain that i recommend: gnar(mega gnar), dr mundo (at lvl 6), maokai, renekton, irelia, nidalee (build her bruiser AD), swain (at lvl 6)

Here are some other options but these are tougher to play: nasus , cho'goth, aatrox, rek'sai, hecarim, zac

Have you ever tried DrMundo ? Until last week I just never really bothered to consider his existence. He just looked boring as hell. But OMG he's so good when you actually play him right. His ult is like ALWAYS up, which allows him to stay alive forever in lane. If ever you're getting bullied out of lane (damn that Darius ) just throw cleavers to farm. He body blocks? No problem, it deals % damage so his health will quickly drop down. When I got 5 items (including warmogs) I was regenerating around 65-70 HP per SECOND. LIKE WAAAAAT!

Imagine having his ult on. Yeah, if you're a sustain tank main, then you're SERIOUSLY MISSING OUT!

Mundo and Irelia are both good options. Irelia you build Trinity Force or BotRK depending on your enemy, then another damage item if you're at least 2 kills ahead, then go full defense.

If you're willing to be pretty passive in lane, and just torture your opponent when they make mistakes, take Nasus. Stall the lane and stay near your turret (only hit minions to kill them) and farm for as long as you can. Even mid/late game go back to a lane and farm minions or go through the jungle clearing small camps and just stack your Q like a motherf****r. By mid game you'll be a beast that chunks champs or turrets with your Q, and can take a load of damage on top of that. If you like Nasus and are willing to play that passive farming early/mid game, hear me out here, Thresh top. Same basic idea, just farm until you're unstoppable. The difference being farming for souls is a bit easier than last hitting your Q, since any minion that dies nearby can drop a soul. Max your E for the basic attack modifier, and build AD/Crit/MR. You get enough armor from your souls that you shouldn't need to build any if you farm properly. Q onto someone, jump, AA with a fully charged flay and a high crit chance (IE,SS,PD/YM)and then R>E and almost anyone will be dead.

I only got meele. i love me a Yorick his e goul is nice sustain if you can get good farm you can start out item 1056 but if you just learning you start item 1054 or item 2041 he's only a little mana heavy at first and as long as the enemy doesnt see fit to burst down your gouls you can stay healthy Yorick can be a bruiser or a tank just set him up what works best for you
