I know, you can't! It makes me sad, too. I wish there was a way to do that. It would save me a lot of wasted time and spare me from the anger and frustration of both my teammates and their flaming, and the constant disconnects. If I could see that my ping is >9,000 before I get into a ranked match that decides if I get from Bronze V to Bronze IV, I wouldn't play at that time and wait until my ping is a much more reasonable 89. Anyone who plays League understands the frustrations that involve hearing the lady go "A summoner has disconnected!" Immediately we think "If your ping is so bad, why are you even playing?" Everyone knows that it's impossible to have constant tolerable ping (unless you have 5 modems next to your computer) so, disconnections are bound to happen and unfortunately inevitable. That issue could be solved with Viktor's new creation "The Ping-Checker" (it was late, he ran out of ideas)! I think it's about time for Rito to lead The Glorious Evolution by integrating this feature into the client. Rito plz

Viktor

Sincerely, Viktor, TheSouper, and the League of Legends community

P.S. Who knows, maybe even Amumu would be happy about this addition? Isn't it worth a shot? Amumu

Google search "Ping Test" and you'll find many sites that you can test your ping. Also, you can just go into a custom game and play it for 5 mintues to test your ping as well.

I've been hoping for such a thing for years now. Just make an obligatory connection test and block ranked for anyone that cannot first prove to have a stable connection. Players with a constant ping of >250ms or frequent disconnects (or fps drops due to CPU instead) are unable to play competitively, simply because they lack requirements, be they as skilled as possible. If you can't react timely to anything that might happen, there is no way you can play a game that requires reaction and decisionmaking.

Not saying it's necessarily the player's own fault - but it will be very annoying to their teams and ruin any competitive aspects of a match. Playing with someone who has constant laggs or disconnects multiple times is nowhere better than playing a straight 4 vs 5.

If someone does not manage to get a stable connection for whatever reasons, they ought to play custom matches or maybe normals but definitely no rankeds. And one ought to be forced to do so aswell, to the interest of the average player who is trying to enjoy competitive gameplay on a MOBA game. Also, Riot reveals, at least implicitly, that they consider the average player's experience more important than the interests of people who disconnect frequently or simply go afk by featuring a leaver-buster system.

The leaver buster only works repressively (as far as it works). Obviously a system is required that also works preventively. Just imagine there was no crime prevention in your country, just punishment. Not a state most would wish for but it's the same thing basically and not such a far-fetched comparison if you think about it.

Can we get some up vote hype for this post pls, I feel like it wouldn't take much for Rito to implement this.

Or maybe just provide the PvP servers' IP?

I can do the rest myself.
