Is My CS Too Low?

With referrals to opgg, LoLKing, and Match History, is my CS too low on average?

The only guideline I have is to try for at least 200 cs by 30min in.

Generally, from what I've seen and have done personally, in 10 minutes there's an opportunity for around 170cs or so (Was practicing last hitting myself and counted up to 10 minutes just to see how many is possible) assuming you manage to last hit each and every single one. However, realistically you're going to lose some to minions, you're going to lose some to tower. and you might just miscalculate and not get the last hits. Generally, around 10minutes, you should be close to 100, 70-80 is pretty good average from most I've seen and by 20 minutes, you should be about 200 or so if you pick up a shiv, if not 150 isn't too bad. For APs, however, since you're most likely not running AD runes to help last hitting (unless you're like me and actually do run a few just for that, eheh...) generally 100 or so by 20 minutes is actually pretty good.

Take into consideration most of these numbers are going to be slightly lower or higher depending on a) if you're roaming, b) you're a jungler (who tend to suffer a bit just because people hate when they grab a few minions from lane) and c) how aggressive your lane opponent is. Again, these are from my own experiences and just averages of what I can do and have seen from teammates, therefore it's probably not going to be the best with people getting perfect farming numbers. I just say if you can get close to 100 by 20 minutes, you're doing pretty good for your self as that's roughly 1500 gold assuming you've gotten every single canon minion and lost the fewest amount of minions to misses, not including kills. (if my numbers are off, I don't know what the exact worth of minions are, sometimes I get one for 14, other times 15, still other times 18 for just a basic minion, not sure why it causes that)

Cs can always be higher! LOL but to be honnest you can get about 10 cs per minute so you're hitting 2/3 of the cs you should be getting. That isnt bad by any means, unless you are literally farming all game, because you arent going to be getting farm in teamfights or when you are taking objectives. If you are looking to get better at farming you should hop in a custom game and just last hit on whatever champs you play. Hope i helped!

at 7 minutes. 40+ cs is good at 10 minutes 75+ at 20 minutes 150+ at 30 minutes 200+

if you need further information just watch lcs and check their cs. at the times i listed.

also take into concideration the champion you're playing. how much gold do you need to make a good first buy back. (7-10 minutes) the buy for mid game powerspike?(20 mins) and late game (30+ mins)

Skill wise, in terms of a solo custom game, you want to hit 100 at ten. In real games, you rarely get the opportunity to just farm.

100 cs by 10 mins should be your standard. Actually 200 cs by 30 mins is quite low compared to the standard of over 300 cs by 30 mins. That being said, what matters more is **your cs compared to the enemy laner's cs ** . You want to have a much bigger cs amount than your enemy because in a game where both you and the enemy are equal in terms of gold from kills/assists/objectives, that cs lead will amount to having more or better items than the enemy which can have a big effect in teamfights.

Simply because you have a high amount of CS each game doesn't necessarily mean much in terms of the overall game. If you and the enemy have the same amount of cs, its going to come down to who uses their gold better to win the game.

Lets go deeper and look into a scenario of having high cs VS. having more cs than the enemy counterpart:

There are two adcs: Jinx and Lucian.

Case 1: They both have 150 cs at 15 minutes (we'll assume they did not get any extra gold from any objectives and 0/0/0). Their current items item 3031 mirror each other so now this game comes down to "Which adc can utilize their items better?"

Case 2: Lucian has 120 cs at 15 mins and jinx only has 70 cs at 15 mins. In this case, we can assume lucian has an infinity edge item 3031 built. Jinx merely has B.F. sword item 1038 . Because of this cs difference, lucian is much stronger than jinx in terms of dmg. If both were to participate in a teamfight or a 1v1, lucian is much stronger than the jinx because of that item advantage so he would have a bigger impact in the fights.

Minion waves spawn every 30 seconds. Each wave consists of 3 melee minions and 3 caster minions. Every 3rd wave contains 1 additional cannon minion. This means every 3 waves contains 19 minions (9 melee, 9 caster, and 1 cannon). Minions spawn at 1:30, and reach lane at 2:00. Subtract 4 waves for the first 2 minutes before minions arrive to lane. This means that at 30:00, 56 minion waves will have reached your lane. 56 waves(19 minions/3 waves)=~355 minions. 150 CS / 355 CS x 100% = 42%*
