Malzahar support... crazy or actually viable?

i recently played a game where i thought i was going mid but realized i was support after locking malz. i switched to exhaust and just went with it. started with item 3303 +pots. rushed item 3027 then built item 3151 item 3116 . early laning was tough because without the mana back from E i ran out pretty fast. my adc was a quinn. we won vs blitz and jinx. we did it again to see if it would work and won again (vs ashe and lee sin). i will admit i wasn't really playing the support role the way i should because i never bought sightstone or wards. it was essentially a kill lane. i'd like to hear other people's on whether or not they think it's a good and which adcs might have synergy with him. pros: high bases, can take tower pretty easily, % hp damage for taking dragon, voidlings can block skillshots, voidlings can tank dragon, long aoe silence, suppression, can clear waves if needed, zoning

cons: slow, no escapes, no hard cc other than ult, might take a few cs while trying to refill mana, can't really peel unless the enemy is spell reliant for damage, can run oom quickly before getting mana items

i'm sure i missed a few pros and cons. i kind of want to see if AD malzahar would work as a support. obviously, my lack of rank and the lack of samples (2 games is a pretty small sample size) are a factor and i would not suggest trying this unless you're duoing with the adc

tl:dr it worked twice. what do you think about it?

kill lane is a type of bot lane another unsual but good supp is ez with frost queen if you help the adc or the adc helps you kite the q poke gets you fed while forcing the other team out

malz support is a 1 trick pony. his ult. sure he has a silence, but its rather hard to land with all these mobility creeps infecting bot lane

that said, if you went item 3302 then you could use your e to replenish mana, encouraging your adc to last hit the infected minions, and if they miss no big deal, since the item is bugged and triggers off everything.

No, let's go the full nine yards. malzahar adc*! (ap build, bottom lane) Bot lane long-distance infection farming means that you can stretch damage even farther than a caitlyn player... And no one wants to go near an infected minion anyway. you will need a support ready to put up with your gank vulnerability, though.

Malz support has one major weakness : Immoble. While this isn't a death sentence with good warding, You mentioned you weren't. If you actually continue to play this, I would go AP/mp regen runes, since he can start an E, then backoff and still do lots of damage with space aids. But you NEED to ward. Esp pre 6, you have NO way to peel for your adc. Rylais would be a good buy to supplement this, so your w turns into a slow to land q into. That would help a good deal, I think. Esp with like an ashe/malz lane. Kite for days. Layer frost queen on top of it, and you should have enough peel afterwards. Maybe this build?

item 3256 item 3092 item 2045 item 3116 item 3023 item 3089

Of course, you should tailor it, maybe building omen or somethin if the enemy is REALLY cheeky. Or banshee's veil.

It should work rather well with adc that have good CC and peel of their own, like Jinx To help with your mana issues: simply take a item 3070 first. Both updates can be good, especially when you get another mana item, like item 3027
