New to Lucian! Any tips?

Lucian I recently bought Lucian. I'm trying to get 2-3 champions in each role that I can play and 1 champion that I am exceptionally well with. Lucian is the champion I want to be exceptionally well with bot.

For his skill set order, I'm going to go q, e, q, w then max q then max e then finally w (putting a point in ult whenever you can).

What should his build be? Recently I've just been rushing IE first followed by static shiv, then I build a botrk. After that it's just situational I guess.

Is that a good build order..? or na

Any other tips you could give me would be great.

Skill order: Q E W Q Q R Max Q, then W, then E

Reasoning: You want all of Lucian's spells asap (don't wait until level 4 to get W) because you want to use his passive to the max. His E cooldown decreases when you use your passive, and it's ONLY a dash, so you want to max W 2nd for more damage.

A lot of people rush IE and then Statik Shiv, I personally like IE -> Trinity Force because it gives him stupid-good burst. The rest depends on enemy team. You may need to get Last Whisper or start building a defensive item. I almost never get BotRK until the end of the game. Some people get Ghostblade and BotRK early (activate Ghostblade before ulting), but it's not my style.

If you rush IE first you need to build a phantom dancer second to be most efficient because those items complement each other very well. But I've seen some other interesting build paths, brutalizer-->trinity and things like that that may be effective as well

I honestly don't know why Trinity Force fell out of favor with the pros. They may like the faster waveclearing and more crits from the Statikk Shiv. Anyway, Lucian uses every single stat from Trinity very well. It also gives more movespeed than Statikk Shiv, and the passive makes it easier to kite or chase people, especially combined with his W. And because Lucian is chaining his abilities (E, auto attack, Q, auto attack, W, autoattack, etc) he uses the sheen procs from Trinity to constantly output massive damage.

Again, it's personal preference. When I built Statikk Shiv on him, I felt considerably weaker.

I use Lucian a lot too. That is a good build, but how I do it is:

  1. Statik Shiv or Bloodthirster (situational)

From there, you can change your items based on the champions you are playing against. Make sure to get a lot of attack speed, so your ult is super effective, as Lucian's ult's number of shots increase as your attack speed increases. I usually get 100% critical chance. Maybe a phantom dancer, infinity edge, etc. Hope this helps!
