So I want a good top laner and I was wondering about Irelia or Yorick? If possible can you list Pro&Cons?

Irelia: Pros: Good Sustain CC Great ult for finishing off, or just getting more health for a fight. Easy last hitting with q execute Cons: If behind almost very bad Mana hungry early game Yorick Pros: Nice damage Slow A "second chance ult" Sustain Cons: Mana hungry Ult isn't really that good

I would buy irelia over yorick.

Irelia is a strong top laner due to the flexibility of her kit. Trinity Force is the only offensive item she needs for killing squishy champions during the mid-game, which lets her itemize for CDR and durability. Her laning phase is relatively safe and most matchups are skill based and she can be a mid-game terror. In the current meta, she would be useful for diving the enemy back-line (using her passive to shrug off CC) to kill the enemy DPS.

Yorick is a strong lane bully after he has Tear of the Goddess. His damage doesn't really fall off too badly, but his lack of mobility, crowd control, his short range, and the sustained nature of his damage can reduce his usefulness. His ultimate is quite valuable for extending your ADC's life so that they can kill the enemy tanks.

Irelia is probably the better or more consistent pick, but Yorick is definitely a viable option.

I choose Irelia over Yorick because of her effectiveness after laning.

Both have good sustain, Yorick's probably a little better. Irelia is more conventionally tanky, has situational CC, deals nice on-hit damage, and has a sweet gap closer, but lacks ranged poke (outside of ult). She gains more CC reduction during teamights and can jump directly on to the adc. Use Irelia to get really tanky and still dish out damage, and potentially ruin all fun your enemies might be having.

Yorick is a good pusher, has nice long ranged poke with his spells, and gets deceptively tanky with his passive. He requires building mana (manamune) and doesn't have a gap closer. Better at dueling but falls short during teamfights. His only use for ultimate is to dublicate the adc's autoattacks, and believe it or not, the situation where his ult is best at isn't very often. Use Yorick to win lane and lose teamfights, but have a ton of fun.

If you decide to go with Yorick, then check out this website http://www.leagueoflegendsmath.com/Must_Reads/Yorick_Guide.html It is Inverted Composer's site, and he is a high elo yorick main.
