How do I farm while being zoned? (HELP PLS)

If i'm playing someone like Katarina, i tend to take a lot of harass. this makes it difficult to farm putting me behind. now i know some people say kat is op and she is farm master, but i cant get the hang of it. any tips? how should i prepare my self? This is usually why I lose lane, If I get fed i am able to do okay, but this only happens when the enemy makes a mistake. When they don't i'm not sure how to prioritize farming with last hitting? Most of the time if i'm not fed my farm is less than 50 at 10 min this means my creep kd is... well really bad. I miss 64 if i get exactly 50. I personally believe that my mechanics are decent, not the best but decent. I'm hoping someone can give me insite on how to improve this. I feel this is a weakness of mine that i must fix. If you have any suggestions it would be much apreciated, even lane suggestions or champs, I'm also bad at adc because of this reason.

Alright I'll attempt to make this as simple as possible. I'm a Kat main and the biggest struggle with Kat is trading with confidence.

Zoning goes hand in hand with fake and real balls. The trick is to win as many trades as possible through outplays and to manipulate that pressure to gain control. If you are getting zoned it's because of two things. A - You're failing trades horribly or B - You got hard counter'd. A - can be solved through skill but B - can only be helped by playing safe and waiting for jungle assistance.

Lets use Kat vs Syndra for example. There is three key mechanics to keep track of. (I love this match up because with skill you destroy Syndra)

  1. Reactive Aggression. When the Syndra steps forward to use a Q/auto attack. Do not run away from her when she does this. Run at her with confidence and no fear. Dodge her Q by shunpo'ing her directly(which in most cases you can not) or by shunpo'ing a minion close to her(which is what you will do mostly). Q, autoattack if possible or wait half a sec, w and back up(utilizing w movespeed to get out fast). Make sure you are not directly shunpo'ing over balls in a line towards Syndra because if she pushes you away you will be stunned by the ball that is behind you.(It stuns you if you are pushed into balls also)

  2. Don't be Over Aggressive. By doing this a couple times it leads you to being easily predictable. Make sure to dodge a few by sidestepping when easy and keeping wards up. If you use shunpo offensively too often a jungler could gank you as you as you shunpu inwards.

  3. Trading at the right times and lane control. These are obvious things that all mids should be doing but you still need to make sure you don't trade when you have a cannon minion or couple minions low hp to finish off. Also try not to autopush a lane but don't let it push into you either. Clear waves as fast as possible to reset a lane.

For Kat in most cases where I'm of equal skill to the enemy I average 60-70 cs by 10 min mark. It's kind of hard to get them all but do your best. You don't need as much gold to snowball as other mids. So if you're a little behind enemy mid that is ok it will be as if you are even. But if you get ahead you rekt em.

If you're playing a champion like katarina and are getting zoned the best way to secure farm is to farm with your abilities. Most of the time as katarina you're not going to be walking up to the creep wave to melee last hit the minion becasue you get harassed so easily. Also if you're being zoned so hard that you can't even farm with your Q ask your jungler for assistance. Just one gank to your lane could relieve a ton of pressure because it could result in a kill or at least summoners burnt. If you can't lane against your opponent then you can roam to other lanes to see if you can pick up some kills that would allow you to catch up with your lane.

Adc is a little different because you're ranged and shouldn't have as much trouble getting cs as if you're playing a melee into a ranged. If you still are having trouble play champions such as Caitlyn, Jinx, or Ashe who have very long range, and abilities you can use to farm from afar. Also if you're having trouble laning as an adc you can go farm jungle creeps such as Krugs if you're on blue, or gromp if you're on red side.

If you want practice last hitting go into a bot game with no bots in it. Take off your runes and masteries, don't push the lane just last hit. it will help you figure out the bare minimum you can do to last hit with a champion. Once you feel like you have a good understanding of last hitting without a lane opponent put some bots in the game doing the same thing with no runes and masteries. This allows you to get a feel for getting harassed in lane.

All it comes down to is practice, get a feel for how the creeps act and pay attention to which creeps they are hitting.

50 at 10 is expected when you're playing kat. Playing safe just means taking the least amount of damage and getting the most amount of cs.

Go to a custom and cs over and over.

If you're getting zoned, roaming is also an option. If you're not in lane, every other enemy lane feels that pressure. Go bot and get a double kill. If the adc gets the kills, you can tax a little and cs there. By the time you get back to mid, there should be a nice big wave waiting for you and the enemy team will be raging at their mid laner for not following your roam.

now seriously, I guess you just gotta be fast, while they can still harrass you.. the indows much shorter and they wont get as much shit in

  • throw that bouncing knife of yours
  • spin...
  • shunpo to a minion a spin
  • consider dropping a ward by your turret so you can run out for a cs or watever you want and shunpo back to the ward quickly.. hey might as well leave a pink ward cuz it lasts forever

all of which you RUN THE FK FAR AWAY immediately after if it hits harder than your AA, use it credentials: I've never played katarina in my life
