So when your team is pushing, then...

One person on their team is split pushing. My entire team goes to kill the split pusher. I kept telling them that 5 of us pushing will beat their pusher. But everyone kept going to kill the split pusher. I understand sending one to guard the tower, but not 4.

The split pusher wasn't an Udyr, Nasus, Jax or another champ good at split pushing either.

What should I do when this happens?

I kept trying to push the lane, but I was playing Voli who doesn't have great wave clear.

Alright so if someone is splitting you have a few options: 1. trade objectives if the objective you take is better especially if you know his/her tp is down. ex. they have one guy bot taking your second tier tower but your team goes top and takes top inhib tower because they cant defend 4v5. or another ex. you trade baron for any tower even an inhib tower but probably not a nexus tower if you know you cant defend it 2. Send someone top that can duel him or atleast defend with waveclear. 3. Group up and force a 4v5

If your team will stop what they're doing to focus the carry then it sounds like you just need to show up to the lane thats getting split earlier and get it under control so they don't get distracted. Most of my games I'm spending most of the time top and bot while everyone else is mid since they seem to forget that there are three lanes.

What they're doing can actually be the correct move in some situations. For example, if it's late enough in the game that a full collapse by your team will kill the person attempting to split push and then have a 4v5 for another minute, then you can basically win the game off of it.

If it's just an error, attempting to continue to push by yourself is probably also a mistake - if you're a slow pusher or you'll get caught, then it's just compounding your team's blunder with one of your own. Usually the best things to do in that situation is to get wards down as you withdraw so that hopefully your team has the ability to get picks as the enemy team rotates to deal with your next push. So just accept the fact the push is over, try to salvage vision/map control out of it, and start over.

If its late game, follow your team and collapse on the splitpusher. Kill them instantly and then win the game. A 5v4 late game is pretty much GG, doesn't matter who you kill; ADC is best, but top/jg/mid/support all do.
