How to get rid of chat permanently [WORKS]

Hello all, This probably happened to you: Somehow you mess up (or you don't, but someone in the team thinks you did) and the flames start raining down on you. You can ignore them, but the community is getting worse and the level of stress you have to endure just by reading everything that mentions you, does not allow you to concentrate or win.

So, the solution is to NOT have a chat to read. I do not care about /ignore all, etc. I just want every game to be peaceful. Smart pings can convey most of what the team needs, so here is the solution:

Simply open your League folder, than 'Config' folder, in there you'll find a file called 'game'. Before you do anything, first, save a copy of that file somewhere else on your computer, in case you ever wanted to reintegrate the chat. Now, to remove the chat, open the 'game' file and down under the 'Hud' heading, find the line: 'ChatScale=' ....change it to : 'ChatScale='-100, then save your file.

Next time you're in a game, the chat window won't be there anymore. This is how I have been playing for a little while and trust me, its worth it! In this game, all you really need to communicate to your teammates are the pings. If you dont know how to use them, its worth learning them now and not needing the chat anymore. If you're part of a premade team, just use something like Skype or Teamspeak to communicate to them. No more wasted time typing. You can invest all of that new time on doing and focussing on what you gotta do to win, instead of on listening to all of the negativity, trash and trolling that you get in the chat when things start to go wrong.

I know there will always be sceptics, but in my opinion and from what I have experienced, Its worth the shot! :sick: You gotta try it!
