Could season 5 be the return of the Roamer?
During the early days of league there was a role known as the Roamer, similar to a jungler they would frequently gank lanes and counter jungle the enemy, but rather than getting thier XP and gold primarily from the jungle they got gp10 items and leeched XP. Eventually people realized it was more efficient to have a jungler and a 0 CS support for a 1/1/2 lane setup, but is this still the case? Since this meta was established a few key changes have occured, first, the way that XP is shared in lane is no longer 50% to each player, so leeching XP will not set laners noticably behind, the range for XP is also larger now, meaning that you can get XP without always being seen on the map, also, the jungle now gives less XP, causing a jungler to easily fall behind.
So what does this all have to do with roamers? Well, though the jungle no longer supports a single champion in levels it can still make up for any XP leeched by a jungler.
There are a few things you could consider that might make this viable.
- your mid laner could take smite, with the upgraded jungle items they could use it both as a combat summoner and to suplement their farm, mages that build spell vamp or have it innately could also benefit from the heal it would provide. Also there is the possibility for CC and wave clear depending on what is needed, it's a pretty versatile spell now, especially with the charge system.
- Laners could take camps to supplement their farm, mid could start with blue and the ADC or bruiser could start with red, or at gromp/krugs. Giving your lanes an early level 2 and the buff advantage.
- the roamer would be able to take a combat summoner from level 1,
+
for some excellent early kill pressure, and starting with

for some decent gold and utility, also allowing tanks to get
- taking the inspiration mastery can help players keep up in levels while going from lane to lane, but probably won't be strictly required.
Anyone think this could work or have some potential problems that might prevent this?
