Does anyone know of a source that explains it well, or is anyone willing to offer help? I'm familiar with Riven but am not very good with her, mostly because I haven't played her a whole lot and also because I don't know how to animation cancel on her. I have her championship skin and would like to start putting it to good use. Help!
Did you even try to find out by yourself before coming here. I got tons of results and guides from google in less than 2 seconds
Well, Riven is my worst champion, but I know textbook how to play her, and also I favor a few champions who utilize this. Basically, the damage from Riven's AA will go through before she finishes the AA animation. As soon as the damage is dealt, autoattacking again will cause Riven to start an entirely new AA, shaving off a few moments of time and overall dealing more DPS.
My advice is to pay attention to the numbers, as soon as you see the damage your AA did then cancel it and start a new AA. That's just how I do it.
Knowing how to kite helps as well, since you're more experienced in cancelling your auto attacks.
