Malphite W Max
After the recent changes, I've been trying a new approach to playing
. I've mained this champ since I started playing, and although I haven't really touched him, his new W has really made me pick him up again and take more of an AP bruiser approach to him.
Here is his W. PASSIVE: Malphite gains additional armor. ARMOR INCREASE: 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30% ACTIVE: For 6 seconds, Malphite's basic attacks deals additional physical damage to the target and nearby units. PHYSICAL SPLASH DAMAGE: 25 / 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 (+ 15% AP)
He doesn't gain as much bonus armour as the old W, but it's now up permanently. The bonus AD portion was removed and replaced with an AP scaling, meaning building a bit of AP is even more rewarding. The AoE is also now part of the active.
My old playstyle was that when I would trade, I would keep it short; use my abilities, and use the movespeed from my Q to either run away before they retaliate or to keep chasing them if I was going ham. Now, I like to max W and use it as my main trading tool, with my Q and my E being there more for the utility than the damage.
The pros are that trading now takes a lot less mana, I now have decent DPS from my W's uptime, and I fare a lot better against AD champions with a lot of harass due to the bonus armour. The waveclear from W is also surprisingly good. However, this also means I don't have very good poke damage, and that I won't be making the most out of my passive due to the longer trades.
