How to play against someone significantly better than you
Long story short I play factions alot, but sometimes I just get crushed in lane by someone who is like diamond or plat, any tips to not feed super hard?

-Stay under tower -Max your wave clearing skills -Ward often so you know where that laners is going (he's gonna roam if you keep hiding) -Push tower hard if the laner roams, or help the opposite lane the laner goes to (if mid lane)
If you don't feed, farm lots of creeps, and make sure he doesn't get good ganks off unannounced; you should be decently leveled and have a good amount of items. The rest is depending on teamwork and other laners to carry
Play defensively and let your jungler gank.
Safe farm at turret and don't be afraid to ask for help.
Suggest a lane switch if it isn't working out if you believe you might be better at taking on an enemy in a different lane.
Just know that the team is mightier than one person. This game is decided by securing objectives so group up with your team after laning phase ends and you can easily outplay the enemy team. As for laning phase, it really comes down to experience. When you fall behind in lane, the best strategy is to play safe, farm out the lane, and never put yourself in danger. That being said, you have understand when you're in a dangerous situation so knowing what the enemy champion does is very important to understand what you can safely do to avoid dying more.
I guess you need a diamond's opinion since you're being beaten by them.
Counters to smurfs - Camp them, make sure NOT to fail these ganks , the goal is to be an annoyance and prevent them getting fed early on. Play unusually safe, to the point where you might even be kissing tower. Purposefully go out of position to bait their abilities. The more you bait, the more agitated they become and long for an all in, use this chance to bait it and have jungler gank.
play normally and learn from your mistakes. you arent going to learn anything by turtling and playing excessively safe. if anything it will show weakness causing you to get poked down all game and you'll die to dives and feel completely helpless
you have to learn how to play aggressively and counteraggressively to be good in lane. dont let yourself be intimidated by your opponent's rank or mechanical skill.
