Need help getting out of bronze

PrimeWraith·9/8/2015, 6:38:46 AM·2 votes·1,279 views

I feel like I don't deserve bronze, I lose my lane 1 in 5-6 games average. when I win my lane, I go help other lanes but they fed them too much and I end up dying. how would you deal with this situation? another thing, its almost impossible to get my teams to push other lanes. I say things like "just push top/bot lane and pretend its mid since there's a minion wave there" (sometimes flaming it). but they don't listen to me. please help me!

ingame name: PrimeWraith (for viewing match history only) (if you think I fed on one, please click on it and compare me to my team mates)

Overall, ty for your help

When it comes to Bronze V, it's difficult to know exactly what's going wrong. There are bound to be a wide variety of things that people are doing wrong in Bronze V. Some people start the game without buying any consumables. Some people never buy boots. Some people completely wasted Flash, or don't take Flash. Some people go all-in all the time without any regard for whether they can win the fight.

Some of these things can be seen in match history/op.gg but there are a lot of things that are hard to pin down if we can't actually see you play. This is where recording yourself playing or posting a replay can help a lot. Other than that, there's always the generic advice: ward, play safe, be nice, and cs. Especially cs. If you can cs perfectly, you can get to Silver no matter what else you're doing wrong.

You seem to be making a lot of excuses for yourself. First of all, you should ideally never be losing lane, even in only 1 out of 5 or 6. Second, if you die it is your fault, regardless of the scores of your teammates. If you find yourself dying a lot (in most of your games you have 5+ deaths) then you should identify what is causing those deaths and either just play safer or focus on making better decisions in those scenarios so that you come out alive.

If you would like some hands-on practice, feel free to add me in-game. I love to do coaching and help other players.

Do you have a preferred role to play? Perhaps playing a specific role can help you improve because it let's you focus and avoid the jack-of-all-trades playstyle. From your last few games I can see you like Riven, Veiger and Shaco. From my experience if the game starts to go south Veiger and Shaco aren't the best champs to play. Also from my experience bronze games tend to drag on to the late game most times because players there don't know to close games. The whole laning phase turning into aram phase thing. I recommend champs that snowball hard or have really strong late games so that you can either destroy the enemy early and demoralize them or get strong later and dominate teamfights yourself.

Your recent games where you had lots of deaths were some rough match ups for your champ if you ever had to "force" anything. So don't beat yourself up. Teammates from my experience will follow you if you get ahead. People trust winners. So if you hold your own, ping intentions and communicate they will generally do what you want. If they don't do what you want then let them be stupid and clean up the enemy after your team gets caught.

Looking at your match history I'd say you can improve in a few areas:

CS: Your CS per minute numbers are really inconsistent. Typically they are around 3-4 which is quite poor for Top/Mid/ADC. Focus on getting your CS per minute above 7, especially in the first 10 minutes of the game.

Warding: At most you buy 1 pink ward a game. Usually you don't buy any wards. Compare that to higher level players who buy multiple wards per game.

Trinket: In not a single ranked game did you upgrade your trinket. For 250 gold there's no excuse not to upgrade your trinket. Not only does it give you an extra ward but it makes your wards last a minute longer.

I record all my games and I'm always looking for people to play with. Add me and we can play some norms. I'll review our games and see if I can find any other ways you can improve. If we make a good duo maybe we can help each other climb in ranked.
