Full AP Zyra Viable?

I'm not saying she isn't and trust me I have done my fair share of research on this before bringing it to the boards but I just wanted maybe some stats or proof that could be an AP carry, yes i have seen people like Solwolf I believe or Faker do it but I guess I just need more convincing be sure to discuss in the comments i'm really curious to see what you guys think possibly bring facts supporting she is AND isn't because all positives won't help much.Thanks, see ya on The Rift Summoners!

AP Zyra got a nerf, if I remember correctly, because she was made as an APC but was mostly being used as a support, which made her ratios broken. She's not the best APC right now, no, but yes, she can be played that way.

Shes still my favorite AP carry even with the nerfs. Her laning phase is pretty safe, and her AOE damage output is tops in the game. Plus you get the utility of a knock-up, a root, and plants that slow. If your mid opponent wanders, she is great at shoving the lane quickly to their tower.

Even in a 1v1 you'll find that if you unload your full combo (including ult) you can surprise a lot of people.

I find nowadays the trick is to focus more on CD reduction and magic pen, not pure AP. Max Q and W first.

Mask is crucial, as is Void staff.

Thanks guys I really appreciate it but another question i'm getting as I do research and watch videos is that it seems people perceive her as a good mid and AP yet the people who play her like this that i have seen are insanely good at LOL so i'm not questioning anyone's skill but is it general easy to get damage and burst do like in the videos or does it take time to master because i'm not worried about skill shots because i'm really good at landing them it's just i'm curious about if the combo is landed can one truly achieve damage like that without being diamond tier or even challenger?

She is a great ap carry, even got into a 2v1 bot lane (jinx Morgana) cause my carry was afk... I won lane, it was hard, but after level 5 I could all in with my extreme burst. All you gotta do is e then drop a seed in the path, then q and drop your other seed. IT IS CRUCIAL THAT YOU GET 1 E PLANT AND 1 Q PLANT the e plant slows while the q hits farther away, and then make sure if you ult you catch them and your plants.

What?? She was always a great mid laner to begin with. You mentioned seeing only "pros" do it. To match any Zyra's damage, just have an AP rune page, 21 points in offense, Haunting Guise early, and voila. You then do the exact same damage they do. You don't need to be pro to match anyone's damage on a champion. She's a mid laner first, support second. People only started taking her and Morgana as support after watching pros do it, copying them. Zyra and Morgana were always originally mid laners. One of my friends still does Zyra mid lane and does fine.

P.S. A little help for you. I notice you have an "AP Katarina" mastery page. Katarina is only built as AP. You only need 21 points in offense for her and you don't need the Meditation mastery in the Utility tree (which gives mana, which she does not have).
