Been having alot of fun playing twisted fate in norms but whenever i take him into ranked i cant seem to pull off anything, not to mention i am always counter picked via, Diana/Fizz/Yasuo. Any tips? (I'm silver 3) Also what are optimal build paths for TF? I have done the LB, LE, D-Cap, Zhonya,Void and i have even done the no ludens and built a morello. I generally go CDR boots. Any advice?
Don't rush to go in, wait for the right time to use your spells. I've seen a lot of backline carries get anxious to rush into battle and end up getting destroyed because they got too close to the frontline. Just stay in backline. TF is there to get picks onto people. That's his job.
Patience patience patience. We all want to land that sweet sweet yellow card combo but if you jump the gun you're going to get yourself killed really quick. TF is max difficulty for a reason and it's not because his cards are hard to use. It's all positioning.
My build is Morello, Sorcs, Lich, Ludens, Zhonyas, Void or GA
I'd say to rush Luden's as your first buy over Lich Bane. The wave clear you get from it allows you to roam more and so does the bonus MS.
Also, with TF, you need to whittle them down to the point where you know you can kill them. Before teamfights, just spam that Q and get a Blue card in whenever, once the actual thing starts just do the same thing but with a gold card while not putting yourself in a bad spot. Red Card is great for chasing stragglers, you could opt to use gold but only if it's just one person.
What I get on TF usually is: Luden's Echo, Lich Bane, Ionian Boots of Lucidity, Void Staff, Morellonomicon and Rabadon's Deathcap. If you want Zhonya's I'd replace CDR boots with MPen boots and Void Staff with Zhonya's. But the build I recommended is good because it gives max CDR and great damage. You also want to be maxing Q first with this build.
