So i use flutterbug cuz ZOMG SO CUTE!!! :D but then i got a hauntling and i was suprised at how fast he was- and it got me thinking... are some little legends faster than other ones? If so, is this a p2w mechanic? Anywho glhf ♥

Yeah i had wondered too. I saw some discussions about river sprite having a slightly bigger box but several people said all hit Boxes were the same as well. Alot of people bind move to a key and then double click to move (mouse center of the carousel) and I guess that can give you an advantage. BUt other than that Position in relation to the carousels movement is typically the most important factor.
