What's the skill involved here?

I don't see any. It's all RNG.

RNG for your starter unit, RNG for ammount and type of items, RNG for some synergies, RNG for the carrousel, RNG for some epic units even being available in some matches.

Getting above 7th place is a miracle with 10 trillion RNG layers. Imagine a game of Snakes and Ladders where one player has a board full of ladders and the other 7 have it full of snakes. That is TFT.

Can we have ANYTHING guaranteed? Just 1 unit of choice, 1 item of choice, whatever.

Even getting the round 4 mission needs you to invest like 50 hours in being lucky enough to survive to that point.

Just remove RNG. There's ZERO control over anything. It's even worse than the worst gacha models. At least those have pity timers. You can be speding 100 gold on rolls for A SINGLE, ONE STAR epic and walk out empty handed.

It sounds like you're just really bad at tft, and blame rng on your lack of good decision making and planning.

Yea, it takes lots of skill to get 2-4 2 stars at round 2

There's not a single game that's decided by round 2, nor will you see that consistently.

It is. Being down to 60 hp and losing all rounds, sometimes even PvE one, leaves you with no choice but to FF atfer 2-6. Only 2/10 recent games were on a not godawful pace to not warrant me to FF at that point. Only 3 gold for being in a 7 loss streak is a spit. It should be 5-6 to make up for being 60+ hp below 7th place.

If you're consistently losing that badly, have you considered that maybe you're just making bad decisions? You can also very easily make comebacks with just the acquisition of a single unit or item. I've literally never seen a game where surrendering was the only option, which just leads me to believe you've given up on games you could have easily placed higher in had you stuck it out and played smarter.

What kind of bad decision can be made THAT early? Not Konami Code-ing enough to guarantee all the units for my comp?

Maybe look at some guides or watch higher elo streamers play the game and pick up some tips on how to do better. Without seeing your gameplay I can't actually offer any tips on how to play better.

I actually just played a game that perfectly supports what I said, almost scary how much it supports it actually. https://i.imgur.com/M6nrnLv.png I lost every single match up until krugs, was at 62 health. I was attempting to go hextech blademasters to try it out, but wasn't getting any useful items or units. I had a single 2 star by the time I was at krugs. Rather than just ff because I was behind, I reassessed what I was building and decided to go for a yordle comp. I was stuck at almost all 2 stars until around stage 4 and 5 when I finally got the last champs I needed to combine into 3 stars. Went from dead last with a massive loss streak early to a 2nd place finish.

If its enturely RNG then doesnt that mean you have a 6/8 chance to get above 7th. . .
