Level up with a single click

Trias000··5 votes·1,087 views

Since buying XP only makes sense when you want to level up, it should just buy enough XP at once to do so.

You can keep it in multiples of 4 if you insist. So if you need 2 XP to level up, you'd still need to buy 4. That's fine. But if we need 30 XP to level up, we shouldn't have to click/press E 8 times. We should be able to buy 32 XP at once. Or maybe just 30, whatever.

No, sometimes you want to limit how much you spend so you can still hit an interest breakpoint and finish the level next round or later. However I can see how it would be useful to go to the next level with one click, so it would be good to have that as option.

Why not simply wait, then?

Buying xp is actually useless if it doesn't level you. So you can just sit on the gold and hit the XP button later. Same difference.

Keeping more than 50 gold is useless too.

I'm not sure if the game then rolls your champions based on the new level or still on the old one. In the latter case it wouldn't matter if you almost leveled up before the new stage, or spent no gold on levels. But if getting a higher level right as the new stage begins meant you would also get better champions then it does make sense.

No.

If you are sitting at 54 gold and need 28xp to level, your idea would drop you below 50 gold and maximum interest. The current system allows you to spend 4 xp and remain at maximum interest.

Yes.

If you want to stay above maximum interest, you can simply wait and not buy exp that round, as buying 4 xp and not getting a level out of it is literally useless.

No drawbacks to the system as described in the OP.

and sitting on gold over 50 is useless...

the current system allows many options, the OP's suggest offers only 1

The OP's suggestion is a streamlined version.

In both situations the extra gold is currently useless.

However, the OP's suggestion is the exact same thing but with less clicking.

It is a pure QOL upgrade. I actually don't understand how people don't like it.

But spending that 4 gold on XP gives you no benefit at all. So you can just sit on that 54 gold and level up all at once later.

Yeah "Buy Full Level" would be a nice QOL feature. There's been several times I've spammed XP to level up quickly as the match was about to start, and overshot it wasting 4 gold or more.

No. Putting me below interest breakpoints for no reason makes even less sense.

If i need 16 xp to level, and have 28 gold, i can put in 8 xp and wait til next round, see what i get, and decide from there, instead of being forced to drop all 16 gold into it.

likewise, if i need 6 xp to level, your idea FORCES me to spend 8 gold to level instead of just 4 and wait 1 round.

Just add an auto level hotkey. Thats all you need. You dont need to change the xp buttons functionality. Have the hotkey unbound by default. Problem solved.

Nobody said anything about changing the XP button's functionality. You're making your own assumptions and then writing a paragraph about something irrelevant.

It could easily be added as an extra button, and I'm sure that's what OP meant.

"No one is suggesting changing the functionality" except the OP. Literally what the OP is requesting.

No, it’s not. The OP is requesting the ability to level up all at once. There is no suggestion for implementation.

And most people with common sense would assume there would be an additional button, as not to override the current functionality.

"it should just buy enough XP at once to do so."

Literally the first thing stated. Everything after this even further backs up the idea that they think it shouldnt do anything other then spend the max.

If i need 16 xp to level, and have 28 gold, i can put in 8 xp and wait til next round

And what do you gain by spending that 8 gold as opposed to keeping it in your pocket?

Being closer without over investing and still being able to see what i get out of my free reroll and determine how much more i want to commit to the level compared to what my new hand gets me.
