i fall way behind early. but finally get my sorc bonus. put together some extra good pieces. the comeback is huge! i go on a winstreak. then just me and the #1 remain. i beat him twice but he beats me next game taking me down to 2 hp! i make some adjustments the final showdown should be epic!
.....and then the dragon kills me and the game is over. no epic final showdown. 2nd place without a fight.

hrooza dota 1 votesi see this is as a survival-like mode, survive until you are the last one standing , i dont think they should remove npcs damage because i think you should be heavily punished for losing to one [no items is not a punishment imo]

but do you think the final round of an elimination tournament should be decided player vs player? or in a special round where both players fight some big npc monster who isnt anything like all the other battles?
does that make sense for it to end like that?
hrooza dota 1 votesyes, the dragon is like a challenge to both players , you take a big item as a reword or lose health as a risk of this challenge .
thats my opinion on the matter, others might have a diff one idk.
Hl FRIEND1 votesit is a dumb challenge. i have a team that can beat every other team in the game but it loses to this 'challenge'.
and its not like i messed up or played bad. there is no strategy to it. what can i do? switch players for better dragon killers? cant do it. your items are all on your main team and there isnt any real option for a backup team.
so when i get to that dragon i just lose. i can spread out my players so its aoe maybe doesnt hit as many but thats it. thats why its dumb. you cant outplay it. if you have the wrong team you just lose.
hrooza dota 1 votesplan ahead then, making a comp weak vs something you will 100% face if you stay alive is something to take account of [sorc can kill dragon in this patch, i have done it before]
there is items like 
or red buff that you can build vs dragon while spreading your unit decently by that stage forcing a certain item to be in your comp is not hard [even easier if you were so behind], those items are also very effective in neutral so no excuse.
of course you can ignore those items and instant try to save health by doing better early and not be at low health vs dragon [tho that mean you give up on a big item which is bad idea imo]
