Change Champion Upgrade Requirements

Change the requirement for upgrades of champions from 3 to 2, it will significantly speed up the game. This has been tried in another auto battle game called auto chess, and it has been wildly successful in cutting the playtime in half. This will take a 40min game and reduce it to roughly a 20min game. Which is right around the time you should be aiming for.

More importantly you can widen the champion pool, because it takes so many less champions to upgrade you can stuff a good 5-10 extra champions in the rotation.

Every single champion has been balanced through the 3-per-upgrade system. Redoing that would be a nightmare and every single champion would need to be changed in order to be balanced.

Actually they haven't been, they've been balanced for a 3 tier system, but not a 3-per upgrade. Having 2 champions instead of 3 will in no way, shape or form impact the scaling, because their scaling would stay exactly as it is right now. And you wouldn't even need to change the field if you added in the extra champs because they would fill the 2 or so slots that would be "extra" as a result of going from 3 to 2 champs per upgrade.
