LP Gained Vs LP Lost for TFT

I gain very little LP from 1st 2nd and 3rd in TFT and lose massive amounts for 6-8th? I'm currently Gold 3 and I noticed I only get about 36 LP for first, 28 for 2nd and like 15-18 for 3rd. Meanwhile, I lose large amounts for 5th-8th. 7th/8th I lose anywhere from 45-56LP. Sometimes even in fourth I lose a few points. What does this mean? Is my MMR permanently messed up or something? I've been climbing recently too as I was gold 2 but I lost two games at 78 LP and dropped all the way down to Gold 3. Is anyone else having this issue?

TFT ranking is a complete joke, with the level of RNG in the game its really built to keep you from climbing it seems.

Yet one person owns two of the top 10 accounts in TFT. It's not RNG. It's adapting to the RNG. AKA skill.

adapting to RNG takes even more RNG in itself lol. Those games where you get literally 3 complete items, and just get gold from every camp? You're not going to have a fun time getting top 4. Can be done, but it's exponentially more difficult.

It's actually easier because you get to start your econ earlier, and reach higher levels earlier, and capture those 5 tiers you need quicker.

You can have 20 Gold before your very first pvp round, if you play it right. Can be at 50 before Round 3. Most surefire way to win with Nobles = Coins.

there is no possible way to hit 20 gold before the first PvP round. That's not mathematically possible in the game. You get 1 gold first round, two gold the next, and MAYBE 5 the third round. all while hitting 2 gold per round. you can hit a max of 14 gold before pvp

This is as zoning into the first pvp.

Notice I have 3 items on my sideboard. In other words, one of my rounds gave items. Now I want you to look at my sidebar.

I had 3 Units on the board: 2 Nidalee 1 Stars, and a 1 star Garen.

3 Gold in tow. The sidebar is worth 8 gold The cards on the board are worth 3.

That's 14 Gold with 3 items.

If I had sold all but one Champion after Round 1-2, I would have had 1 3 Gold unit, and 11 Gold. If the Minions had dropped Gold, it would have been +3 More coins, the +5 from winning round 1-3, and +1 coin interest.

That's 20 Coins.

It's not skill like pinball. It's like statistics. A robot could do it. I had predicted that a game like this could be "solved" and it seems that a few players have done it. They won't win every time, because not every game is winnable (RNG). But apparently %60 consistency is achievable. They'd be banned from the casino.

Good players get in top 4 more than 50 % of games. Overall LP gain for good players is skewed positive.

Gold is still considered average players at best in TFT. You generally have a concept of synergies/some items, but you don't know how to win when those items aren't given to you.

Your MMR isn't messed up. You're expected to at least on average finish 4th place or above to climb. Consistent 8th place performances suggest out of elo and deserving of correction.

And yes; this is a skill based game; Two of the top 10 Challengers are the same exact person. If it was luck or a bad LP system, he'd only have 1 account up there.
